Germanwings flight 4U-7218 had to return and make an emergency landing in Hamburg, Germany, on January 29th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Stockholm, Sweden, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported an unidentified odor on board.
The plane landed back uneventfully.
Three passengers were taken to hospitals with respiratory problems while several others were treated at the airport.
In Jaipur at 9:30 on January 5, 2013, after having to divert due to visibility issues, an Imphal-Delhi Air India flight was out of fuel and made an emergency landing in Jaipur damaging a wing and suffering a flat tire. The video says the wing damage was due to a tree-strike after the tire burst.
The Gauhati to Delhi flight diverted Jaipur due to dense fog but in Jaipur too, the pilot landed in fog and low visibility. 168 passengers and 5 crew were aboard. We have heard no reports of injuries on the Airbus A320-231 #VT-ESH but the damage looks pretty bad, if the twitter post is of the correct incident. (That’s the correct # as far as we can tell.) Emergency services responded to the scene.
IrAero flight IO-225 made an emergency landing in Barnaul, Russia, on June 18th.
The plane flying from Irkutsk, Russia, was descending toward Barnaul when the crew received an engine fire indication and declared an emergency.
The plane landed uneventfully. All eighty-five passengers and five crew members remained safe.
Myanmar National Airlines flight UB-313 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Dawei, Myanmar, on April 14th.
The plane heading from Yangon to Myeik, Myanmar, was diverted after the crew noticed an engine oil leak.
The plane landed safely. All sixty-nine passengers aboard remained unharmed.
A chopper, belonging to the 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, made an emergency landing near Camp Humphreys, located close to South Korea’s Anjeong-ri and Pyeongtaek metropolitan areas, on August 24.
The OH –58 Kiowa Warrior helicopter was on a routine maintenance flight around the camp when it had to land in emergency.
Both pilots sustained minor injuries.
The cause of emergency landing is not clear at the moment.

Why: Shortly after takeoff, the plane made a noise like a backfire and the left engine failed. The plane was witnessed to fly over Barrigada, bank north over Tumon, fly out over the Philippine Sea before returning to the airport to make a safe landing.
Continental seems to be planning to use the 757 in an upcoming regular route to Hong Kong.
One wonders if the 757 is not a Hong Kong regular, why 757 maintenance is being ferried there.
Airport firefighters responded at 7 am.
An Indonesian military plane crashed into a mountain in Papua province of Indonesia, on December 18th.
The Hercules C-130 plane took off from Timika, Papua, and was preparing to land in Wamena, Papua, when it went down.
There were 13 people aboard the plane, including 3 pilots and 10 passengers; all of them were killed in the crash.
