    What: Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Santo Domingo to New York
    Where: Santo Domingo
    When: Nov 20th 2009
    Who: 142 passengers
    Why: About to take-off, the plane had two flat tires, and had to be towed. Passengers debarked, the flight was cancelled; and the airline provided hotel accommodations for the passengers.

    United Airlines Omaha-bound Engine Shut Down

    What: United Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from San Francisco to Boston
    Where: Omaha Nebraska
    When: June 29, 2011, 8:20 pm
    Who: 181 passengers, 6 crew
    Why: While en route to Boston, the plane developed a fuel leak in its right engine. The engine was shut down.

    The pilot made a safe landing in Boston within 20 minutes.

    Passengers were provided an alternative flight.

    American Diverts To San Juan

    On Jan 28, 2013, American Airlines Boeing 767 Flight 233 with 198 passengers and a crew of 13 was en route from Miami to Brazil when it developed an electrical odor in the cockpit.

    The pilots diverted to Puerto Rico and made a safe landing in San Juan at 5:08 p.m.

    The plane is to remain there overnight for inspection, and on the 29th, take the crew and passengers on to Sao Paolo.

    Hotel accommodations were provided for passengers.

    United Airlines Flight in Emergency Landing at Dublin Airport

    United AirlinesUnited Airlines flight UA-925 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport, Ireland, at around 6:15 p.m. on November 6.

    The Boeing 777-200(ER), heading from London Heathrow Airport to Washington DC, was diverted after the crew reported smoke and fumes in the cockpit.

    The flight landed uneventfully after shedding off extra fuel. None of the 140 passengers and crew members was harmed.

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Oakland

    Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-43 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Oakland, California, on September 12th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from San Jose, California, to Honolulu, Hawaii, was diverted due to a fuel distribution problem.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    SpiceJet Flight Diverts to Hyderabad due to Foul Odor from Lavatory

    SpiceJet flight SG-192 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Hyderabad, India, on March 5th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Bangalore to Delhi, India, was diverted due to a foul odor coming from a lavatory.

    The plane landed safely. All 188 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.
