    American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Heathrow Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-199 had to divert for an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, England, on June 1st.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Milan–Malpensa Airport, Italy, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted after the crew reported issues with the cabin pressure control.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    PIA Flight Returns to Lahore after Bird Strike

    piaPakistan International Airlines flight PK-295 had to return and make an emergency landing in Lahore, Pakistan, on November 5th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan, but had to return shortly afterwards after one of the engines ingested a bird.

    The plane landed safely. All 130 people aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    PenAir Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cargo Smoke Indication

    penairPenAir flight KS-2921 had to make an emergency landing in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on December 9th.

    The plane flying from Portland, Oregon, was descending toward Klamath Falls when the crew declared an emergency due to a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 20 people aboard remained safe.

    Danish Air Transport Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Denmark

    danish-air-transportDanish Air Transport flight DX-31 had to return for an emergency landing in Bornholm, Denmark, on December 3rd.

    The plane took off for Copenhagen, Denmark, but had to turn back after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin and cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All 14 passengers and 4 crew members remained unharmed.

    Military Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing in Japan due to Technical Complications

    A military aircraft had to divert and make an emergency landing at Yokota Air Base, Fussa, Japan, on September 15th.

    The KC-135 Stratotanker was on its routine mission when it encountered some complications mid-air, forcing the pilot to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    No one was injured.

    What: Aer Lingus Airbus A321-200 en route from Dublin to London
    Where: Dublin Airport
    When: Jun 6th 2009 11: 30 am.
    Who:
    Why: Coming out of London the Airbus was struck by lightning. The flight returned to London, and landed safely. Passengers debarked half an hour after they had gotten on, and booked other flights as the Airbus was examined for damage.
