    Bird-Hit Avianca Brazil Airlines Plane Makes Safe Landing in Brazil

    AviancaAvianca Brazil Airlines flight O6-6326 made an emergency landing in Ilheus, Brazil, on June 16th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane was flying from Brasilia, Brazil, when a bird hit it, damaging the nose cone.

    IndiGo Flight Diverts to Bhubaneswar due to Medical Emergency

    IndiGo flight 6E 822 made an emergency landing in Bhubaneswar, India, on December 22nd.

    The plane heading from Kolkata to Bengaluru, India, was diverted after a 32-year-old male passenger suffered a medical emergency.

    The plane landed safely. The patient was rushed to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar where the doctors later declared him dead.

    Air France Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Newcastle

    Air France flight AF-1158 made an emergency landing in Newcastle, England, on May 28th.

    The plane flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was descending toward Newcastle when the crew noticed a hydraulic issue and declared an emergency.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Greenland Flight Cancels Due to Smoke, Chemical Fumes

    What: Air Greenland de Havilland Dash 7-100 en route from Ilulissat to Upernavik
    Where: Ilulissat
    When: Jan 11th 2012
    Who: 27 passengers and 3 crew
    Why: After takeoff from Ilulissat, smoke developed in the lavatory, cabin and cockpit and the fire detector went off The flight returned to Ilulissat where they made a safe landing.

    No smoke or fire was detected in the cabin, but on inspection, the high pressure bleed air on both left engines did not work.

    Additionally, unidentified chemical fumes evaporated in to the air conditioning system.

    Maintenance believes the problem has been corrected.

    Blue Air Plane Returns to Romania after Abnormal Landing Gear Indication

    blue airBlue Air flight 0B-9361 returned and made a safe emergency landing at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, Otopeni, Romania, on July 2nd.

    The Boeing 737-800, en-route to Antalya, Turkey, was climbing out of Bucharest when the crew reported an abnormal landing gear indication, prompting the plane to return.

    The plane landed safely. All people onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Loganair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Scotland

    LoganairLoganair flight BE-6844 had to return and make an emergency landing in Campbeltown, Scotland, on November 16th.

    The plane took off for Glasgow, Scotland, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a hydraulic failure and reports of smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
