Hawaiian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Honolulu

Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-177 made an emergency landing in Honolulu, Hawaii, on July 12th.

The Boeing 717-200 plane was flying from Kona, Hawaii, when the crew noticed engine vibrations and decided to shut down the left engine.

The plane continued for a safe landing. There were eighty-nine passengers aboard at the time; one of them was injured.

Trans Maldivian Plane makes Crash Landing in Maldives

A Trans Maldivian flight made a crash landing at Velana International Airport, Malé, Maldives, on May 27th.

The de Havilland DHC-6-300 flying from Rangali Island, Maldives, had just landed when it tipped over to its left and its nose and left wing was submerged in the water.

All 9 passengers and 3 crew members were taken to hospital for precautionary measures.

The aircraft sustained partial damage.

Air Cargo Carriers Plane Crashes in West Virginia; 2 Killed

Air Cargo Carriers flight 2Q-1260 crashed into the trees left to the runway of Yeager Airport, Charleston, West Virginia, on May 5th.

The Short SD-330 flying on behalf of UPS went down the hill after hitting the trees.

All 2 crew members aboard lost their lives in the crash.

The incident is under investigation.

Etihad Airways Flight Returns to Abu Dhabi due to Engine Issue

Etihad Airways flight EY-474 had to return and make an emergency landing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on May 2nd.

The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Jakarta, Indonesia, but had to turn back after the crew reported a loud bang and streaks of flames coming out of left engine.

The plane landed back uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport

A small plane made an emergency landing at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, Florida, on April 28th.

The plane was flying from Belize to Tampa, Florida, when the pilot declared an emergency reporting that the left main gear wheel was missing.

The plane landed safely. Chief Operating Officer of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, Mark Stuckey, said, “Luckily when it did land, the aircraft did not catch fire, there were sparks but it safely skidded into the grass.”

There were four people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Delta Airlines flight DL-1633 had to reject takeoff at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Detroit, Michigan, on December 21st.

The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 was accelerating to takeoff for Miami, Florida, when the crew reported the failure of left hand engine.

The plane returned to the apron.

The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

PIA Plane Crashes in Pakistan; 48 Feared Dead

piaPakistan International Airlines flight PK-661 crashed in Havelian, near Abbottabad, Pakistan, at around 4:45 pm on December 7.

The Avions de Transport Regional ATR-42-500 flying from Chitral to Islamabad, Pakistan, crashed due to the failure of its left engine. The plane had lost control with the radar shortly before it hit the ground.

The wreckage caught fire right after the crash.

There were 42 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time. All of them were killed.

The black boxes have been recovered and handed over to Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The investigation is underway.
