    What: Iran Air Airbus A300-600 en route from Stockholm to Tehran
    Where: Stockholm
    When: Jan 16th 2010
    Who: 173 aboard
    Why: After starting the takeoff run, the left engine suffered an engine surge, causing the low speed veer to the left. Officially reported as While lining up for takeoff, the airplane went off the runway.

    Egypt Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Cairo

    Egypt Air flight MS-757 had to return for an emergency landing in Cairo, Egypt, on June 26th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Amsterdam, Netherlands, but blew the right-hand nose tire during departure.

    The crew subsequently turned back and landed safely. All ninety-five passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    Caracas-Bound Venezolana Airlines Plane Rejects Takeoff

    Venezolana Airlines flight VNE-222 had to reject takeoff from Maracaibo, Venezuela, on June 9th.

    The Boeing 737-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Caracas, Venezuela, when both nose tires burst, forcing the crew to rejected takeoff.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Las Vegas

    Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-8 made an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 7th.

    The plane flying from Honolulu, Hawaii, was on approach to Las Vegas when the crew noticed a possible mechanical issue and declared an emergency.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and seventy-one people aboard remained unharmed.

    Air Asia Plane Damaged Runway Light during Landing in Malaysia

    Air AsiaAir Asia flight AK-6460 damaged a runway light upon landing at Sibu Airport, Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia, on December 17.

    The Airbus A320-200 was flying from Kuching, Malaysia, to Sibu, when its right tyre got burst upon landing and it hit a runway light.

    The plane did not receive any further damage.

    All 144 people onboard remained unhurt.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Indiana interstate

    A 1967 Beechcraft Bonzana plane had to make an emergency landing on Interstate-65, between the cities of Seymour and Crothersville, in Indiana, on February 27th.

    The plane was heading from Seymour, Indiana, to Louisville, Kentucky, when it developed a mechanical problem. The pilot Aaron Wright, 44, of Carmel, attempted to return to the airport but realized he could not make it and landed on the interstate instead.

    The plane was carrying three people, including Wright, his wife, and 13-year-old son; all of them remained uninjured.

    Indiana State Police, the FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
