    Jetstar Airways flight JQ-731 had to return and make an emergency landing in Melbourne, Australia, on April 11th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Launceston, Australia, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a hydraulic failure.

    Saudi Arabian AirlinesSaudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-61 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Prestwick, Scotland, on March 31st.

    The Boeing 777, en-route from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Toronto, Canada, was mid-air when a passenger reportedly fell ill onboard, prompting the plane to divert to Prestwick.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    Delta Air Lines Flight Diverts to Norfolk International Airport

    DeltaDelta Air Lines Flight 546 had to make an emergency landing at Norfolk International Airport, Virginia at 3:10 P.M. on July 5.

    The Boeing 737 was heading towards John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, from Dominican Republic, when the pilots received warning of a possible mechanical issue in one of the engines and decided to land as a precaution.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 131 passengers and 6 crew members aboard remained safe and were accommodated in a replacement flight.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Burning Smell

    American Airlines flight AA-5559 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Selma, Alabama, on June 21st.

    The plane heading from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, was diverted after burning smell was noticed in the cabin and cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. There were sixty-five passengers aboard at the time; two of them were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

    Singapore Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Singapore

    Singapore Airlines flight SQ-336 had to return and make an emergency landing in Singapore, on November 19th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, but had to turn back due to the loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and thirty-four passengers and seventeen crew members remained unharmed.

    What: Wal-Mart Lear 45 executive jet en route to Anchorage
    Where: Boeing Field in Seattle
    When: August 26, 2009
    Who: six passengers on board
    Why: When the pilot was unable to retract the landing gear, he returned to Boeing field; On landing, the front landing gear (still locked up) caught fire. The tire fire was put out with foam. There were no injuries reported.
