British Airways flight BA-878 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 4th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Heathrow Airport, England, to Saint Petersburg, Russia, was diverted after the crew noticed vibrations in one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Air India Boeing 777-300 en route from Delhi to New York JFK,NY
Where: Delhi
When: Jul 17th 201
Why: After takeoff from Delhi, the right engine developed problems. The pilot returned to Delhi and made a safe landing.
Passengers disembarked, and were provided a different plane and crew twelve hours later.
The engine is suspected to have ingested a bird.
Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJA611 had to make an emergency landing at Ben Gurion International airport in Israel, on November 3.
According to the airline, the Airbus A320 was en-route from Dubai to Amman, Jordan when it was diverted due to poor weather conditions.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Authorities said the plane resumed its journey shortly afterwards after refueling.
Virgin Australia Airlines flight VA-101 had to return and make an emergency landing in Christchurch, New Zealand, on March 19th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Melbourne, Australia, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Easyjet Airbus A319-100 en route from Paris to Nice
Where: Paris
When: Nov 21st 2009
Who: N/A
Why: While en route, the Airbus control panel indicated that the gear door remained open after the gear was retracted. The plane returned to the Orly airport for a safe landing.
Note: We don’t have a follow-up indication telling us if this was a technical problem, a physical problem, or if the sensors or software was just overly sensitive.
An Etihad Airways flight made an emergency landing at Bandaranaike International Airport, Sri Lanka, on February 8th.
The plane flying from Sydney, Australia, to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was diverted after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.
The plane landed safely. The patient was taken to a hospital.
United Airlines flight UA-1643 had to return and make an emergency landing at Hewanorra International Airport, Saint Lucia, on December 30th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back after the crew failed to retract the landing gear.
The plane landed uneventfully. All one hundred and fifty people aboard remained safe.
