    Mesa Airlines Plane Returns to Arizona due to Cabin Pressurisation Problem

    Mesa AirlinesMesa Airlines flight AA-5906, flying on behalf of American Airlines, had to return and make an emergency landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Arizona, on August 24th.

    The Canadair CRJ-900 flying to Burbank, California, had to return due to problems with cabin pressurisation.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    CityJet Flight Returns to Amsterdam due to Nose Gear Problem

    CityJet flight WX-180 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 13th.

    The plane took off for London, United Kingdom, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with nose gear.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Emergency landing in St Petersburg Russia

    What: Rossiya Airbus A319-100 en route from St. Petersburg to Moscow
    Where: St. Petersburg, Russia
    When: Oct 7th 2011
    Why: After takeoff, the plane developed engine failure in the left engine.

    The pilots shut down the left engine and returned to make a safe landing.

    The flight was in the air less than twenty minutes. A replacement jet was provided within three hours.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Duplin County

    emergencyA small plane made an emergency landing on Highway 11 near Garland King Road in Duplin County, North Carolina, on December 21.

    The pilot Richard Kenny said he was forced to land on the highway after his plane ran out of fuel. He was heading from Long Island, New York, to Orlando, Florida, at the time.

    The plane hit a highway sign while landing. No injuries were reported.

    Delta Flight 886 Diverts to JFK Airport; Rolls off the Taxiway

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines Flight 886 had to make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, due to a fault in plane’s hydraulic system.

    The plane was en route from Atlanta to LaGuardia Airport. However, as the fault was detected, it was diverted to the JFK airport.

    The airline told that the decision of diversion was made because the JFK airport has longer runways than the LaGuardia Airport.

    The McDonald Douglas MD8 aircraft made a safe landing at about 9pm on Wednesday, April 2. But the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told that while taxiing to the terminal, it skidded off the taxi way, on to the grassy area.
    There were 118 passengers and 5 crew members on board. None of them was injured.

    Southern Air Engine Fire

    What: Southern Air Cargo Boeing 747-200 en route from Liege to Portugal
    Where: Liege Belgium
    When: Oct 30th 2009
    Who: 5 crew
    Why: While en route, the plane suffered a fire in the left engine. The crew put it out, dumped fuel and landed back at Liege.
