    Southwest Airlines Flight Hits Turbulence Near Tampa

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-4851 encountered severe turbulence near Tampa, Florida, on April 22nd.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Nashville, Tennessee, was descending toward Tampa.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    According to the FAA, two flight attendants were injured in the incident.

    Where: Saint Denis (2x)
    When: May 8th 2009
    Why: When there was a problem with the brakes, the plane returned to Saint Denis twice for repairs, before the flight was ultimately cancelled

    Transavia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Transavia flight HV-6331 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on February 1st.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Valencia, Spain, but had to turn back after the crew reported navigation system problems.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Royal Jordanian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Doha

    Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJ-611 had to divert for an emergency landing in Doha, Qatar, on May 18th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Amman, Jordan, was diverted after the crew found an unidentified object on-board.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Upon checking, the security forces did not find any hazardous material.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Charlotte

    American Airlines flight AA-730 had to return for an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 21st.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Heathrow Airport, England, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a possible issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and fifty-eight passengers and sixteen crew members remained unharmed.

    What: Faucett Boeing 737-222 en route from Lima to Arequipa Peru
    Where: Mountainous terrain 2.5 miles west of runway 9
    When: February 29, 1996
    Who: 117 passengers, 2 flight crew, 4 cabin crew
    Why: Faucett flight 251, Boeing 737-222 crashed about 2015 eastern standard time on VOR?DME approach to runway 9 at Rodriguez Ballon Airport, Arequipa Peru. The flight was en route from Lima International and had 117 passengers, 2 flught crew, 4 cabin crew, all fatally injured. The flight crew made no indication to problems to ATC and impactd near the top of a ridge 2.5 miles west of runway 9 The main fuselage carried over the initial ridge and impacted ner the top of the second ridge 1/3 mile east. The empennage fell to an arroyo in between. Factors that contributed to the crash were poor night time visibility, darkness and the heavy fog.
