    LATAM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Spain

    LATAM flight LA-8062 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Las Palmas, Spain, on September 24th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport, Brazil, to Milan–Malpensa Airport, Italy, was diverted due to electrical problems.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    United Airlines Flight Returns to Honolulu International Airport

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight 396 had to return to Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii after 11 P.M. on July 6.

    The plane was heading towards San Francisco, California, when it had to return after sparks were seen coming out of one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Azores Airlines Plane Returns to Portugal after Bird Strike

    Azores AirlinesAzores Airlines flight S4-134 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Lajes Field, Lajes Air Base, Portugal, on July 15th.

    The Airbus A320-200 en-route to Lisbon, Portugal had just departed Lajes’s runway when the crew reported a bird strike resulting in engine failure.

    The plane landed safely. All 109 people onboard remained unharmed.

    The flight was cancelled.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-1803 had to make an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on May 17th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was diverted due to issues with the weather radar and navigation systems.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Medical Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in California

    A medical helicopter had to make an emergency landing on a vacant lot in Rancho Cordova, Sacramento County, California, on March 23rd.

    The helicopter was carrying a toddler with burned hands to UC Davis Medical Center when it started to smoke, prompting the crew to land.

    The helicopter landed safely.

    The toddler was transported to the hospital.

    On 28 July 2010 after taking off from Karachi at 0241 UTC (0741 PST)on a domestic flight to Islamabad, Airblue Flight 202 (AP-BJB), an Airbus A321, executed a circling approach for RWY-12 at Islamabad, crashed into the Margalla Hills nine and a half miles north-east of Islamabad apparently due to bad weather. One hundred and forty-six people were aboard, and six crew. One hundred forty-six passengers and all six crew members died. The plane was a total loss. It is the first fatal accident involving an Airbus A321 and Pakistan’s worst air disaster.
