    Flybe Plane Diverts to Manchester due to Cargo Door Indication

    FlybeFlybe flight BE-262 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport, England, on November 13.

    The de Havilland Dash 8-400, flying from East Midlands Airport, England, to Edinburgh, Scotland, diverted due to a cargo door indication.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 72 people aboard remained safe.

    10 Injured After American Airlines Plane Hits Turbulence

    American Airlines flight AA-759 encountered turbulence near Long Island, New York, on August 5th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane flying from Athens, Greece, was descending toward Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when it hit turbulence that injured ten people.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. The injured were taken to hospitals.

    Helicopter Crashes in Alaska; 1 Rescued, 3 Missing

    A helicopter crashed near Lituya Bay, Alaska, on September 28th.

    The helicopter was transporting four people from Grand Prairie, Texas, to Wasilla, Alaska, when it went down.

    The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 14-year-old survivor of the crash. Other occupants of the aircraft remain missing.

    Delta Flight Cancelled over Jacksonville—Engine Lost and Recovered

    What: Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-88 en route from Jacksonville FL to Atlanta.
    Where: Jacksonville
    When: Jun 15th 2011, 10:30 p.m
    Who: 135 aboard
    Why: Taking off from Jacksonville, they had a compressor stall.

    The pilots recovered the left engine, and made a safe landing back in Jacksonville, in spite of a loud bang that occurred. They stopped on the runway (which had been inspected for debris). A passenger told reporters that there was an engine sparking.

    Emergency vehicles were on hand.

    Passengers disembarked, and were provided an alternative flight.

    Two Killed in Helicopter Crash in Norway

    A helicopter crashed into a mountainside near Roldal, Norway, on February 17th.

    The incident happened when the Robinson 44 helicopter was heading from a ski centre at Roldal to Karmoy.

    There were two people aboard at the time, including a man and a woman; both were killed in the crash.
