    Sunwing Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in Greece after Technical Problems

    Sunwing Airlines flight BY-1526 made a safe landing at Corfu International Airport, Greece, on July 21st.

    The Boeing 737-800 flying from Belfast, Northern Ireland, had just taken-off when the crew some technical problems.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Mechanical Issue

    United Airlines flight UA-4269 made an emergency landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Ohio, on January 28th.

    The plane heading from Dayton, Ohio, to Newark, New Jersey, was diverted due to a mechanical issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Plane Safely Lands in Salt Lake City after Bird Strikes

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-2229 safely landed in Salt Lake City, Utah, after bird strikes on October 16th.

    The plane flying from Seattle, Washington, was on final approach when it was hit by several birds.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Virgin Atlantic Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Heathrow Airport

    Virgin Atlantic flight VS-3 made an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, England, on January 17th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, but had to turn back due to an oil quantity indication for one of the engines.

    The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and forty-five passengers aboard remained safe.

    Billings: Delta/Northwest Emergency Landing, Blown Tire

    What: Delta/Northwest Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Portland, Minneapolis
    Where: Billings,MT
    When: Oct 17th 2009
    Who: 174 passengers
    Why: While en route, the plane developed a hydraulics problem, and diverted to Billings Montana. The flight landed safely, but blew a tire on landing, and had to be towed.

    It is not uncommon for a heavy flight (plane full of fuel) diverting early in the flight before burning its fuel load–or landing at a too-high rate of speed–to get a flat.

    The replacement flight took seven hours to arrive.

    Why: The pilot of a Cessna 230 returned to the airport and made an emergency landing at Henderson Executive Airport when his landing gears did not come down. There were no injuries.

    Henderson Fire Department responded.
