U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Golden Gate Park

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter made an emergency landing in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California, on February 22nd.

According to a spokesperson, the crew decided to land in the park after a maintenance light come on. They were returning from a search-and-rescue operation at the time.

No injuries were reported.

U.S. Coast Guard Plane Makes Emergency Landing at PIE

A U.S. Coast Guard plane made an emergency landing at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, Florida, on December 21.

The crew of the C-130 Hercules plane, flying from Air Station Clearwater, declared emergency after noticing a vibrating sound coming from one of the engines.

The plane landed safely with three engines. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

Laser Pointer Forces Emergency Landing

Two miles off shore of Waikiki, a US Coast Guard MH65 Dolphin was hit by a laser pointer. The pilot had to make an emergency landing at Barbers Point Air Station in Hawaii. A flight mechanic and rescue swimmer were aboard the helicopter when it had to divert back to the base.

The crew was sent to have their eyes checked and are temporarily off-duty.

It is a federal crime to aim a laser pointer at an aircraft.
