    F-16 Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

    An F-16C fighter jet made an emergency landing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Greene County, Ohio, on April 4th.

    According to the base spokesperson Bryan Ripple, the jet belonging to the Toledo-based 180th Fighter Wing declared an emergency due to a hydraulic leak.

    The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    It is believed that the jet was involved in an aerial training exercise in the Buckeye Military Operating Area before the incident.

    Two Killed in Blair County Plane Crash

    A small plane crashed in Williamsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, on April 19th.

    The incident happened when the plane was carrying two men who were travelling to University of Notre Dame for an alumni conference.

    Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. They were identified as Steven Grady and Jim Durkin.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Worker Dies at DFW Airport

    What: Dallas/Fort Worth Airport
    Where: loading dock of the LSG Sky Chefs flight catering facility,
    When: March 18, 2012, 6:45 a.m.
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: An LSG Sky Chefs employee was struck by a catering truck. The 50 year old employee died on the scene.

    LSG Sky Chefs spokesman David S. Margulies released this statement:
    “We can confirm that an associate of our company passed away today while working at our facility at D/FW International Airport following a motor vehicle accident. The incident is being investigated by the D/FW Department of Public Safety. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have also been notified. Our company is cooperating fully with the investigations. Due to this incident and the investigation we were not able to cater some flights this morning. We extend our deepest sympathies to the employee’s family and will work with law enforcement to assist in the investigation.”

    Medical Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Arizona

    A medical helicopter made an emergency landing in Redington Pass, Arizona, on April 2nd.

    The LifeNet helicopter was carrying four people, including a patient, when it suffered an engine failure.

    The pilot subsequently made a safe landing near mile marker 2 on Redington Road.

    Another helicopter transported the patient to a hospital.

    U.S. Airways Flight Diverts to Augusta

    US Airways expressU.S. Airways Flight 5095 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Augusta, Georgia, on April 20.

    The plane was heading from Tallahassee, Florida, to Charlotte, North Carolina, when the pilot requested an emergency landing due to an out-of-order indicator light in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely and everyone aboard remained unharmed.
