    American Airlines Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Cargo Smoke Indication

    American Airlines flight AA-62 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on October 4th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Miami, Florida, to Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was diverted after the crew received a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Broken Wing Forces Delta Airlines Flight 2412 to Make Emergency Landing

    Delta Airlines flight 2412 was on its way from Orlando to Atlanta, when a part of its right wing fell off.  The missing wing panel of Boeing 757 was first spotted by passengers after which, the pilot instantly decided to make emergency landing.

    There were 179 passengers and 6 crew members on the plane, who then took a sigh of relief when the plane was safely landed in Atlanta at about 7:30 pm, on March 16, 2014.

    According to Delta Airlines spokesperson, the broken wing panel did not affect the ability of aircraft to fly or land.

    The incident could have been very serious and undoubtedly, it was very scary for the passengers to look out and see part of a wing missing.

    Horizon Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Portland

    Horizon AirHorizon Air flight QX-2150 made an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, on August 2nd.

    The crew requested emergency services after the plane blew a tire on takeoff from Reno, Nevada.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained uninjured.

    UPS Crash in Birmingham Alabama


    A UPS Airbus A300F4-622R cargo jet en route from Louisville to Birmingham International Airport was on final approach to runway 1-8 when it crashed in Birmingham. The two pilots aboard sent no warning message, and died on impact.

    There is no indication yet if something in the cargo contributed to the crash, or if there was mechanical failure or some other factor involved.

    Visibility was 10 miles and there was a 700 ft cloud ceiling.

    An NTSB team is flying in to begin the investigation.

    The UPS burst into flames on impact in a low population density area. There were numerous explosions after the plane was burning.

    Indonesia AirAsia Flight Returns to Perth due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ-535 had to make an emergency landing in Perth, Australia, on October 15th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Denpasar, Indonesia, but had to turn back due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained uninjured.

    Idaho National Guard Helicopter Crashed Near Boise Airport; Two Killed

    A National Guard Apache helicopter crashed near Boise Airport in Ada County, Idaho, at around 7 p.m. on November 6.

    According to an Army National Guard spokesperson, the helicopter was on a routine nighttime training flight when it crashed near Pleasant Valley Road and Hollilynn Drive.

    There were 2 soldiers aboard at the time of crash; both of them were killed. Their names have not yet been released.

    Idaho National Guard Commander, Major General Gary Sayler said, “The men and women of the Idaho National Guard are united in grief at the loss of two of our brothers in arms, who gave their lives while training to defend our nation…Today, our thoughts and prayers are with their families.”

    The cause of crash is being investigated.
