    Vietnam airlinesVietnam Airlines flight VN-1201 made an emergency landing in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on June 21st.

    The plane, en-route from Hanoi to Can Tho, Vietnam, was diverted due to a crack in first officer’s windshield.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke Indication

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-1604 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Amarillo, Texas, on October 24th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane heading from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Las Vegas, Nevada, was diverted after the crew received indication of smoke in a lavatory.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    EasyJet Flight Forced to Divert due to Medical Emergency

    EasyjetEasyJet flight EZY8626 made an emergency landing at Paris Orly Airport, France, on April 30.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY8626 from Palma to London Gatwick is diverting to Orly as a result of a passenger onboard requiring urgent medical assistance… The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority. The flight will continue to London Gatwick after the passenger is transferred to hospital…We apologise for any inconvenience experienced due to the diversion and resulting delay.”

    The nature of medical emergency is not known at the moment.

    What: China Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-11 en route from Bangkok to Hong Kong
    Where: Hong Kong
    When: August 23, 1999
    Who: 3 fatalities, 208 uninjured; 44 serious, 164 minor
    Why: Summary: On August 23, 1999 at approximately 1840 local time (+12 hours), a China Airlines flight 642 # B-150 McDonnell Douglas MD-11 crashed during a landing approach to the Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok airport. The plane, which was landing during a typhoon, touched down hard, flipped over and caught fire. The right wing struck the ground first, and the landing gear and wing separated as the aircraft rolled inverted. 200 of the 317 passengers were injured and the aircraft was destroyed by impact.

    Flybe Flight Makes Emergency Landing at George Best Belfast City Airport

    Flybe flight BE-486 made an emergency landing at George Best Belfast City Airport, Northern Ireland, on January 14th.

    The plane flying from Manchester, England, was descending toward Belfast when the crew reported an issue with an aft door.
