    CommutAir Plane Returns to Virginia after Aileron Issue

    CommutAirCommutAir flight C5-2672/UA-2672 had to return and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, on April 7th.

    The De Havilland Dash 8-200, en-route from Virginia to New York, had just climbed out of Washington Dulles’s runway when it experienced aileron mistrim, prompting the crew to return.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All passengers onboard remained unhurt.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Returns to Istanbul After Bird Strike

    Turkish Airlines flight TK-1911 had to return and make an emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey, on December 17th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Zurich, Switzerland, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Cessna Makes a Nose-Down Landing in Texas

    CessnaA single-engine Cessna plane made an emergency landing at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport, located in Spring, Texas, on November 10.

    The pilot declared emergency after the aircraft’s nose landing gear failed to deploy.

    After circling over the airport for about 30 minutes, the aircraft successfully made a nose down landing shortly after 5 p.m. The pilot and his only passenger remained uninjured.

    The FAA is investigating.

    Everjets Flight Diverts to Athens

    EverjetsEverjets flight CO-729 made an emergency landing in Athens, Greece, on August 20th.

    The plane heading from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Larnaca, Cyprus, had to be diverted due to a cabin pressurization issue.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    There were 76 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    Why: On landing, both landing gears collapsed, After the successful emergency “belly” landing, the landing gear and wing flap were damaged.
