Delta Airlines flight 611 had to land in emergency on Wake Island, after a mechanical problem was discovered in one of the plane’s engines.
The flight, with 145 passengers on-board, was on its way from Honolulu, Hawaii to Nogoya, Japan when the engine fault was noticed. It was then diverted to the Wake Island, located northwards of Marshall Islands, where it made safe emergency landing.
All the passengers and crew members remained injured.
