    What: IFL Group/Contract Air Cargo Convair CV-440 en route from Miami to Guatemala City

    Why: The Contract Air Cargo freight flight landing in Guatemala City on Friday had a less than stellar landing.

    On landing, the nose gear crumpled. After one of the propellers impacted the runway, it disengaged. Remarkably, no one was reported as injured, although the plane may be a write-off.

    Civil aviation spokeswoman Oddra Lacs said that the Airport was shut down for four hours after the crash-landing about 100 yards the cargo hangers.

    The certificate of the IFL GROUP INC plane was issued on 12/13/1994

    Aeromexico Plane Rejects Takeoff in Mexico due to another Aircraft on Runway

    AeromexicoAeromexico flight AM-421 had to reject takeoff at a high speed at Mexico City International Airport, Mexico City, Mexico, on July 13th.

    The Boeing 737-700 was accelerating to takeoff for Merida, Mexico, when the crew saw another aircraft on the runway, prompting the plane to stop.

    The aircraft braked heavily. All people onboard remained unharmed.

    The incident remians under investigation.

    Republic Airways Flight Returns to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

    Republic airlinesRepublic Airways flight YX-4378 had to return and make an emergency landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, on May 24th.

    The plane took off for Memphis, Tennessee, but had to return shortly afterwards after its left engine emitted flames following a loud bang.

    The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    It is believed that a bird strike caused the engine malfunction.

    Norwegian Air Shuttle Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cockpit

    Norwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-1348 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Stavanger, Norway, on December 16th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Oslo, Norway, to Manchester, United Kingdom, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Norwegian Air Shuttle Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cabin

    Norwegian AirNorwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-4464 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Stavanger, Norway, on March 27th.

    The plane, flying from Edinburgh, United Kingdom, to Stockholm, Sweden, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All 161 people aboard remained unhurt.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
