What: AeroSur Boeing 737-200 en route from Asuncion Paraguay to Santa Cruz

Why: While en route, the pressure in one engine dropped. The crew shut down that engine, and returned to the airport where they made a safe landing.
The 737 joined the AeroSur fleet in December 2008.
Iberia Express flight IB-3673 had to return and make an emergency landing in Berlin, Germany, on November 9th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Madrid, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards after a ground observer reported seeing a jet of flame emitting from the left hand engine.
The crew subsequently declared an emergency and turned back toward Berlin.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: TAP Air Portugal Airbus A340-300 en route from Luanda Angola to Lisbon
Where: Luanda
When: Nov 16th 2011
Why: On takeoff, the plane developed a hydraulic failure.
The pilots returned to Luanda and made a safe landing. Passengers were in the air about a half hour.

Why: During a standard de-icing procedure engaged in flight preparation on a loaded passenger transport, a Servisair ground worker fell out of a cherry picker (bucket truck), striking the tarmac more than 8 feet down. He was not wearing his safety gear, and was discovered by another worker de-icing the opposite side of the plane. None of the 33 passengers on the flight witnessed the fall.
Jetstar flight JQ-517 had to return and make an emergency landing at Sydney Airport, Australia, on Jun 19.
The Airbus A321-200, en-route to Melbourne, Australia, had to return due to an unusual odour on board.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
An XTR330 aircraft made an emergency landing on Volunteer Boulevard near Henderson Executive Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, shortly after 11:45 a.m. on November 5.
The pilot of the aircraft, operated by Sky Combat Ace, reported mechanical issues shortly after taking off at 11:15 a.m. and declared emergency.
The plane landed with only minor damage. There were 2 people aboard at the time of incident; none of them was injured.
Sky Combat Ace and the NTSB are looking into the cause of incident.

A military C-98 went missing Thursday between Cruzeiro do Sul in northwestern Acre state and the Amazonas town of Tabatinga. Eleven were on board. Nine survived, rescued by Matis Indians who live in the area.
The bodies of two plane crash victims were found in the Amazon rainforest Sunday. The C-98 Caravan wreckage was found about six feet deep in the river. One body was found in the plane, the other close by.
The miltary mission of the plane was anindigenous community immunization campaign.
The engine of the plane stopped in mid-air, the pilot landing (deliberately or not) in the Itui River.
