Turkish Airlines flight TK-1668 was hit by an eagle in Istanbul, Turkey, on September 7th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Hamburg, Germany, was on final approach to Istanbul Airport when an eagle got trapped in the nose gear.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Regional Express Airlines flight ZL-4768 made an emergency landing in Adelaide, Australia, on May 12th.
The plane flying from Kingscote, Australia, was on final approach to Adelaide when the crew went around and reported a hydraulic issue.
The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Allegiant airlines flight 683, en-route from Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Orlando, Florida, was forced to make an emergency landing at Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport, South Carolina on August 31.
According to the airline officials, the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft, having 159 passengers on board, was diverted for emergency landing after it began to “experienced a cabin pressurization issue approximately two hours after take off.”
The aircraft landed safely, although the passengers had to wear oxygen masks deployed overhead in the cabin.
The airline provided hotel accommodation, refund for that leg of the trip, and a $200 voucher to all the passengers.
The flight was rescheduled to depart from Greenville next morning.
A Flybe flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Southampton airport, United Kingdom, on January 3.
The Embraer E175 plane took off for Alicante, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards after a bird hit it, causing damage to the propeller.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 83 passengers remained unharmed.
The airline arranged an alternate plane for the passengers.
Eurowings flight EW-79 had to reject takeoff from Leipzig, Germany, on October 17th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Cologne, Germany, when the crew rejected takeoff due to a bird strike.
The plane stopped on the runway and was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained uninjured.
A military chopper made a hard landing in U.S. Forest Service land, south of Rampart Range Road and Colorado 67, in Douglas County, Colorado, on September 2.
The 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter took off from Fort Carson and was on a routine training flight when it went down.
There were 4 soldiers on-board at the time; all of them were injured. They were taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
The incident is being investigated.

Why: After takeoff, the plane developed a problem with the left engine and it was shut down. The crew returned the plane to the Turku airport and made a safe landing.
