Two F-16 jets made an emergency landing at Muan International Airport, South Korea, on April 7.
Air Force officials said the Kunsan Air Base fighter jets had to land in emergency after one of them experienced engine trouble. The jets departed from Gunsan Airport and were on a training flight over Jeolla-do when the malfunction was reported.
The planes landed safely.
The U.S. Forces Korea is investigating.

What: Air France/Cityjet Fokker 50 en route from Antwerp to Manchester
Where: Antwerp
When: July 20 2011
Why: On takeoff out of Antwerp the flight developed complications.
The crew made an emergency landing, due to a cargo fire alarm, and the flight
was cancelled.
KLM flight KL-685 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 7th.
The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Mexico City, Mexico, but had to turn back due to suspected bird strikes.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-753 made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, India, on October 13th.
The plane took off for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but had to return shortly afterwards due to technical issues.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: British Airways Boeing 757-200 en route from Barcelona to London

When: Feb 18th 2010
Who: not available
Why: After takeoff, the crew noticed an odor in the cockpit. Oxygen masks were deployed, and the plane returned to Barcelona. The flight was cancelled. No injuries were reported and there was no further notice regarding what the odor actually was.
A Qantas flight carrying 266 passengers made an emergency landing in Adelaide, on suspicion of smoke in the cargo hold.
The A330 aircraft was en route from Sydney to Perth when the smoke warning alarm was activated, indicating fire in the cargo hold. The pilot diverted the plane to Adelaide where it landed at about 12:40pm on April 4.
According to Qantas, “The flight deck received a warning light indicating a technical issue, so as a safety precaution the pilots made the decision to divert to Adelaide. The aircraft landed without incident and passengers disembarked via normal procedure through the aerobridge.”
Metropolitan Fire Service officers are looking into the cause of the smoke warning alarm activation.
Cathay Pacific flight CX-646 had to return and make an emergency landing in Hyderabad, India, on May 21st.
The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All 244 people aboard remained unharmed.
