SpiceJet flight SG-32 made an emergency landing in Varanasi, India, on January 6th.
The Boeing 737-8 MAX plane heading from Hong Kong, China, to Delhi, India, was diverted due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-people aboard remained unharmed.

Why: En route near Caracas, the plane developed an issue with the right hand engine.
The crew diverted to Caracas where they made a safe landing.
A replacement jet was provided within 20 hours.
Germania flight ST-4911 had to return and make an emergency landing in Faro, Portugal, on June 26th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Berlin, Germany, but had to turn back after heavy smoke was noticed in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. All ninety-four passengers and five crew members remained unharmed.
American Airlines Flight AA192 had a little bit of an issue while standing prior to takeoff Oct 9 2017, earlier today. As the Boeing 777 was being loaded, the container loader malfunctioned, resulting in a fire. The fire spread, and burned the cargo container. The plane was scheduled to fly from Hong Kong-Chek Lap Kok International Airport to LAX in Los Angeles. According to Flightradar24, the flight was cancelled. (I expect so!)

A Citywing flight en route from George Best Belfast City Airport in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland to the Isle of Man had to return and make an emergency landing due to some technical issues.
The twin propeller aircraft landed without incident on June 6 and all five passengers and two crew members on-board, exited safely.
A spokesman of the Citywing said, “The flight experienced a potential technical issue and in line with safety procedures, the plane was returned to the airport quickly and safely.”
The passengers were booked onto the next flight to their destination.
Travel Service Polska flight QS-7222 had to return and make an emergency landing in Wroclaw, Poland, on September 23rd.
The plane took off for Bodrum, Turkey, but had to turn back due to an issue with the fuel system.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Hop Airlines flight A5-4318 had to make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on November 28th.
The plane was flying from Lyon, France, when it experienced issues with the flaps.
The plane landed uneventfully at a higher than normal speed. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
