The Boeing 737-800 plane that took off for Las Palmas, Spain, blew a tire during take off, prompting the crew to turn back.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 185 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

What: Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-400 en route from Batman to Istanbul
Where: Diyarbakir

Why: While en route, a windshield cracked. The flight diverted to Diyarbakir. The flight made a safe landing, but there is no information regarding the disposition of the passengers.

American Airlines flight AA-174 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on October 7th.
The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted due to an electrical problem.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

Why: Before takeoff, the plane made a sharp stop while taxiing, injuring one.
The injury did not prevent takeoff, although there was a short delay while the injured party received treatment.
