    Brussels Airlines Flight Returns to Brussels After First Officer Falls Ill

    Brussels Airlines flight SN-3233 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on September 9th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Rhodes, Greece, but had to return shortly afterwards after the first officer fell ill.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    S7 Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Brakes Problem

    S7 Airlines flight S7-1148 made an emergency landing in Moscow, Russia, on February 6th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Krasnodar, Russia, was on final approach to Moscow when the crew reported a brakes problem and went around.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Alaskan Airlines Diverts to Sacramento

    What: Alaskan Airlines Boeing 737 en route from Seattle to Las Vegas

    Why: While the flight was en route, smoke “unidentified fumes in the plane “developed in the cabin. Pilots diverted to Sacramento where they made a safe landing at 4:42 pm. with emergency services on standby.

    There were no injuries although there was a report of a crew member getting oxygen.

    Passengers said the problem appeared to be electrical, and that a stewardess had “burning in her eyes and throat.”

    Passengers disembarked and were provided an alternative flight. The affected plane is slated for a Tuesday return to Seattle.

    Single-Engine Cessna Crashes at Purdue University Airport

    CessnaA single-engine Cessna plane crashed at Purdue University Airport in West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

    The incident happened on the runway 23, at about 10:37am on May 17.

    The aircraft took off from Lafayette Aviation with two people on board. According to Purdue Airport’s Director of Information, Liz Evans, the plane’s propeller hit the runway while the pilot was attempting touch-and-go landings.

    The passengers remained uninjured.

    Air Nelson Plane Makes Emergency landing due to Smoke in Cabin

    Air NelsonAir Nelson flight NZ-8707 had to return and make an emergency landing in Palmerston, New Zealand, on June 29th.

    The plane took off for Christchurch, New Zealand, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.

    Where: Atlantic

    Why: Over thirty minutes into the flight, the flight experienced computer problems and turned around to return to Philadelphia.
