    Lebanon Crash Investigation Hung Up

    Lebanon’s public works minister announced the investigation report (re: Ethiopian jet that crashed into the Mediterranean in 2010 four minutes after takeoff on Jan. 25, 2010) has been finalized.

    Ethiopia Airlines accused Lebanon of failing to provide evidence critical to the investigation. According to the airline, “The Lebanese government had failed to deliver documents, evidence, and data critical to the investigation.”

    Ethiopia Airlines said that the report is only in the technical stage, that the analysis has not begin. Therefore the report is not finalized.

    Bangalore Helicopter Dodges Wires and Crowded City to Land on Rooftop


    What: HAL Rotary Wing Academy Schweizer 269C (300C)
    Where: Byapanahalli area, northeast Bangalore, India
    When: April 12, 2012, 4:30 pm
    Who: 2 aboard, 0 fatalities
    Why: After a two hour ten minute flight, the helicopter on a training flight developed engine failure, dodged high-tension wires and other buildings to land on a Bangalore roof.

    The Schweizer 269C is a light four year old plane used for civilian training.

    The helicopter was damaged during the emergency landing, rolling over on its side on the rooftop of Maitri Apartments in the Byapanahalli area in North East Bangalore and leaking some of the 20 litres of fuel it carried. The rotors were blown off on impact with the parapet. Retired Air Commodore Roj Assey and trainee Digvijay Singh survived the emergency landing uninjured.

    The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is investigating.

    Washington Plane Crash Survivor Autumn Veatch

    autumnSixteen year-old Autumn Veatch tried to save her step-grandparents after she survived a fiery small plane crash impacting a Washington mountain. The Beech A35 aircraft struck Saturday and she survived two days on her own, after scrambling out of the burning plane with her hair on fire.She tried but could not rescue her grandmother, Sharon Bowman, nor her grandfather, Leland Bowman.

    The Beech A35 Bonanza crashed in the North Cascades, west of Mazama, WA between Kalispell and Lynden. Weather was a key factor in the accident. A second plane crashed into Twin Sisters mountain in the North Cascades on the same day.

    KLM Plane Returns to Netherlands after Decrease in Engine Oil

    KLMKLM flight KL-723 returned and made a safe emergency landing at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 6th.

    The Airbus A330-300, en-route to Havana, Cuba, was mid-air when the crew reported an abnormal decrease in its oil quantity.

    The plane diverted to Ireland but then continued for Amsterdam, and landed successfully.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Cessna Crashed in Brazil; 2 Killed, 2 Injured

    CessnaA single-engine Cessna 177 crashed in Curitiba, a city in southern Brazil, on August 30.

    The aircraft was heading to the city of Londrina when it developed some engine problem and crashed in a residential area.

    Two of the four people aboard died on the spot, one suffered serious injuries while the fourth person survived with minor injuries.

    The injured were taken to a local hospital. No one on the ground suffered any loss.

    The cause of crash is not clear at the moment.

    2 Killed After Small Plane Crashed in Punjab, Pakistan

    A two-seater trainer plane crashed in Punjab, Pakistan, on February 24th.

    The plane, belonging to Shaheen Air, went down shortly after taking off from a flight training school in Faisalabad, Punjab.

    There were 2 people aboard at the time, including the instructor and trainee pilot. Both of them were killed in the crash.

    The accident is being investigated.
