Nepal Airlines flight RA-218 had to return and make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India, on September 11th.
The plane took off for Kathmandu, Nepal, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a wing flap malfunction.
The plane landed safely. All 160 people aboard remained unharmed.
A Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Kolkata, India, on January 1st.
The plane heading from Istanbul, Turkey, to Bangkok, Thailand, was diverted after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.
The plane landed safely. The patient was rushed to a hospital.

What: American Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from London to Chicago
Where: Moncton
When: May 3rd 2011, 3 pm
Who: 150 aboard
Why: While en route, the crew reported the smell of smoke, and diverted to Moncton in Canada.
The plane landed with emergency services on standby and emergency services stayed until 5:20 p.m. The smoke in the cockpit turned out to be from an overheating battery. Dieppe Fire Department examined the plane. There were no injuries, and passengers were provided a room in the airport, so they didn’t have to go through customs.
A replacement jet was flown in.
Turkish Airlines flight TK1530 made an emergency landing at Nuremberg Airport, Germany, on April 8.
The Airbus 321 was heading from Düsseldorf to Istanbul when its windshield began to crack. The pilots then immediately reported the situation and requested an emergency landing at the nearest airport.
The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The aircraft was taken for repair.
A Convair 580, Wildfire plane made an emergency landing at Kamloops Airport in British Columbia, Canada, at around 8:30 a.m. on August 5.
The pilot reported a mechanical issue in one of the two engines and turned the faulty engine off. He, then manage to land safely on one engine.
The plane was carrying retardant which he dumped at a fire in Kamloops Fire Centre before landing.
Navi Saini, a female fire information officer with B.C. Wildfire said, “We still have engineers working to figure out what had happened.”
Air New Zealand flight NZ-621 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Christchurch, New Zealand, on May 20th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Auckland to Queenstown, New Zealand, was diverted after it suffered a lightning strike.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

JetBlue flight 1668, en route from Charleston International Airport, made an emergency landing at Boston Logan International Airport at about 3:25 p.m. on August 4.
According to JetBlue spokeswoman Real Hamilton-Romeo, the emergency was declared after the aircraft, with 95 passengers aboard, experienced a mechanical problem prior to landing.
The plane landed safely and no one was hurt. Massport’s emergency response team received the plane as it touched the ground.
The FAA is investigating the incident.
