    What: Island Trading Ltd. Hawker Beechcraft 58 en route from from Frederick, Maryland to Olive Branch MS
    Where: Leslie County
    When: April 27 2010
    Who: pilot and passenger
    Why: While en route, the plane lost contact, and is believed to have wrecked in eastern Kentucky, in a remote, mountainous area of Leslie County. It is believed the wreckage was located at 5:30 pm, with no survivors.

    Plane Returned to Philadelphia International Airport Due to Landing Gear Issues

    lufthansabombardierA Lufthansa flight returned and made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport due to issues with its landing gear.

    The plane took off for Frankfurt, Germany, at around 5:45 p.m. on June 15. However, shortly after take-off, it was noticed that the landing gear of the plane was stuck.

    The plane turned back toward Philadelphia, where it made an uneventful emergency landing after venting off extra fuel.

    Authorities confirmed that the plane safely touched the runway at around 7:45 p.m. and all crew members and 270 passengers aboard remained safe.

    What: American Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from New York to Sao Paulo
    Where: New York
    When: Feb 21st 2010
    Why: Twenty minutes into the flight, the plane began to smell of smoke. The flight returned to JFK and made a safe landing.

    Air Berlin Plane Diverts to Kuwait due to Electronic Problems

    air berlinAir Berlin flight AB-7495 made an emergency landing in Kuwait, on April 20th.

    The plane, heading from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Berlin, Germany, had to be diverted due to electronic problems.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Sun Express Flight Returns to Dusseldorf due to Cabin Pressure Problem

    Sun Express Deutschland flight XG-4733 had to return and make an emergency landing in Dusseldorf, Germany, on October 26th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Marsa Alam, Egypt, but had to turn back due to a problem with the cabin pressure.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Emirates Double Flats Abort Dubai Takeoff

    What: Emirates Boeing 777-20 en route from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Houston
    Where: Dubai
    When: Jun 8 2011
    Why: During takeoff from Dubai, the left and right nose gear tire burst. (For whatever reason, the first tire burst, the second probably burst due to the increased weight.)

    The plane rejected takeoff, and came to rest on the runway with overheated brakes that were handled by emergency services. The plane was towed off the runway, and passengers were provided an alternative flight.
