Saurya Airlines flight S1-721 made an emergency landing in Biratnagar, Nepal, on September 17th.

The plane was flying from Kathmandu when it developed engine vibrations due to a bird strike.

Helicopter Crashes in Nepal; 6 Dead, 1 Injured

A helicopter crashed in a forest in central Nepal, on September 8th.

The incident happened when the Altitude Air helicopter was transporting seven people from the central district of Gorkha.

Six people, including a Japanese trekker, were killed in the crash. One woman survived and was taken to a hospital.

Yeti Airlines Flight Veers Off Runway at Kathmandu Airport

Yeti Airlines flight YT-1424 veered off runway on landing at Kathmandu Airport, Nepal, on September 1st.

The incident happened when the plane was coming from Nepalgunj, Nepal.

There were twenty-one passengers and three crew members aboard at the time.

Five passengers were injured in the incident and were taken to a hospital.

Tara Air Plane Suffers Runway Excursion at Jumla Airport

A Tara Air plane suffered a puncture of the nose wheels upon landing at Jumla Airport, Nepal, on June 9th.

The plane coming from Nepalgunj, Nepal, became uncontrollable due to the puncture, veered off the runway and hit a fence.

All eighteen passengers and three crew members remained uninjured.

The plane sustained substantial damage.

Yeti Airlines Flight Returns to India After Bird Strike

Yeti Airlines flight YT-175 had to return and make an emergency landing in Bharatpur, India, on May 27th.

The plane took off for Kathmandu, Nepal, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

The plane landed safely. All twenty-two people aboard remained unharmed.

Batik Air Plane Rejects Takeoff From Kathmandu

Batik Air flight OD-181 had to reject takeoff from Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 19th.

The Boeing 737-900 plane was commencing takeoff for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed due to a configuration warning.

All one hundred thirty-two passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

US-Bangla AirlinesFlight BS211 update

Update on the fatal crash of US-Bangla Airlines Flight BS211, a de Havilland Dash 8-400 #S2-AGU that performed flight BS-211 from Dhaka to Kathmandu.

There appear to be 22 survivors of 71 aboard. US-Bangla Airlines flight BS211 crashed on approach to Kathmandu-Tribhuvan Airport, Nepal with 67 passengers and 4 crew aboard: 33 were Nepalis, 32 Bangladeshis, one Chinese and one Maldivian.

The pilots aborted their first approach and the flight was cleared to land on runway 20.

The airport reported flight BS211 veered right off the runway and slid for about 300 meters until coming to a rest on a field in flames. The bodies of thirty-one deceased were recovered at the crash site. Eighteen were pronounced dead upon arrival at various hospitals.The General Manager at TIA (airport) Chhetri said “…the plane took a missed approach touching down the fencing area next to the parked planes at the airport.”

Air Traffic Control said “… pilot of Bangladeshi plane repeatedly informed the tower that he was on the right move and proper direction…Then, the plane suddenly took a wrong direction to the west of the Runway 02 threshold and crashed.”

US- Bangla Plane Crashes in Nepal; 39 Killed, others Injured

US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-211 hit the ground and burst into flames at the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 12th.

The de Havilland Dash 8-400 was flying from Dhaka, Bangladesh, to Kathmandu, Nepal, at the time of the crash.

The plane was carrying 67 passengers and 4 crew members at the time.

At least 39 people lost their lives in the crash, while 31 people were rescued alive with injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Sita Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kathmandu

Sita Air flight 603 made an emergency landing in Kathmandu, Nepal, on February 20th.

The plane took off for Lukla, Nepal, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

The plane landed safely. All twelve passengers and three crew members remained unharmed.

A Tara Air plane skidded off runway at Simikot Airport, Nepal, on November 28th.

The plane was accelerating to takeoff for Surkhet, Nepal, when it blew a nose tire and skidded off the runway.

There were sixteen people aboard, including thirteen passengers and three crew members. At least four of them were injured in the accident, and were taken to Humla district hospital.

The plane sustained substantial damage.

Nepal Airlines Plane Suffers Bird Strike Near Kathmandu Airport

Nepal Airlines flight RA-206 suffered a bird strike near Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on November 18th.

The incident happened when the Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Delhi, India, was on approach to Kathmandu Airport.

The plane continued for a safe landing. All one hundred and thirty-five people aboard remained unharmed.

Summit Air Freight Flight Crashes in Nepal; 2 Killed, 3, Injured

A Summit Air freight flight crashed on the runway of Tenzing–Hillary Airport, Lukla, Chaurikharka, Nepal, on May 27th.

The Let L-410 flying from Kathmandu, Nepal, was about to land when it hit a tree near the runway and hit the land. The incident happened due to fog.

The aircraft sustained technical problems.

Captain and the first officer were killed in the crash. All three crew members sustained injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Air India Plane Returns to India after Engine Shut Down

Nepal Airlines Flight Returns to Kathmandu after Bird Strike

Air Kasthamandap Plane Crash-Lands in Nepal; 2 Killed, 9 Injured

Air Kasthamandap flight 9N-AJB crash-landed in Chilkhaya, Kalikot district of Nepal, on February 26th.

The single engine PAC 750 plane took off from Nepalgunj and was heading to Jumla when it developed some technical problems and went down. Authorities said the plane lost contact with the control tower just 11 minutes after take off.

There were 11 people aboard at the time, including the pilot Dinesh Neupane, the co-pilot Santosh Rana, and nine passengers. The pilot and the co-pilot were killed in the crash while the passengers were injured.

The injured were airlifted to Nepalgunj Medical College.

The government has appointed a four-member commission to investigate the accident.
