    What: Hendrick Motorsports Beechcraft Super King Air 200
    Where: Bull Mountain, seven miles from Blue Ridge Airport,
    When: October 24 2004
    Who: 2 pilots 10 passengers
    Why: On October 24 2004, en route to theNextel Cup Series, a Beechcraft Super King Air 200 owned by Hendrick Motorsports crashed in fog into Bull Mountain, seven miles from Blue Ridge Airport, carrying two pilots and ten passengers. Fatalities included Jon Hendrick and his twin daughters,and Ricky Hendrick. The plane missed its first landing attempt before veering off course and crashing; and the plane had not climbed to its temporarily assigned altitude of 2,600 feet; it instead descended to 1,800 feet before crashing. The cause was ruled failure to use an instrument approach and pilot error

    United Airlines Plane Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Engine Issue

    United Airlines flight UA-972 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on February 12th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Chicago Illinois, to Brussels, Belgium, was diverted after the crew reported an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Beechcraft Crashes Florida House


    On January 4, 2013, a Beechcraft BE35 developed a vibration problem, reported an emergency. The pilot was diverting to Flagler County Airport when the plane crashed into a house a mile from the airport.

    Three people aboard the flight died. Three people were inside the Palm Coast Florida house, but they were not trapped inside the building.

    Plane Crash in Arizona Kills 2

    2 South Carolina residents were killed after their small plane crashed in northern Arizona.

    Charles Trotter, 47, of Liberty, SC and Dakota Jacks, 15, from Pickens, SC were aboard the plane which took off from Las Vegas on June 20. It then landed in Page for a while and departed again at about 1:30 p.m. Authorities said that the last contact with the pilot was established off a Navajo Mountain tower, shortly after the plane took off from Page. Coconino County Sheriff’s office confirmed that the pilot had not filed a flight plane.

    According to Sgt. Aaron Dick from Coconino County Sheriff’s office, the deputies received a report of missing, South-Carolina-bound 1961 Mooney M20B plane at about 7:30 a.m. on June 22. The Civil Air Patrol Wings started the search operation, extending over Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. He also said that they were notified about possible wreckage in Peach Canyon, Navajo Nation, at about 1:40 p.m. On June 22.

    A sheriff’s deputy was then sent to the area, in a department of Public Safety helicopter, who located the wreckage of the missing plane. The bodies of both the pilot and the passenger were also found with the wreckage.

    Trotter was piloting the time at the time of crash. His family later released a statement which said, “Charles Michael Trotter, 47 years old, died doing what he loves-flying his plane. Devoted husband, loved his wife, loved flying, and loved Jesus. Now he is at home with his Lord and Savior. May he rest in peace.”

    Dakota was a friend of Trotter’s family; he attended Pickens High School and Pickens View Wesleyan Church.

    The NTSB is investigating the cause of accident.

    4 Killed as Small Plane Crashed in Chatsworth, Georgia

    A small plane crashed on Piney Hill Road in Chatsworth, Georgia, on July 1st.

    The incident happened when the twin-engine Piper PA-23 plane was carrying four people.

    Authorities said all four occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Lancair Plane Crash Kills Two in Mexico

    A small patrol naval aircraft based at the Mexican Naval Air Station in the Gulf coast port of Tampico crashed at 7 p.m. on April 10 in the northeastern border state of Tamaulipas, Mexico.

    Mexico’s navy department said that the Lancair plane was on a reconnaissance mission. Two military personnel, including the pilot and an observer were killed in the accident. The plane sent distress signals but crashed a few minutes later. The naval authorities sent their condolences to the families of the dead.

    The Tamaulipas area, which borders Texas, is currently facing clashes between rival criminal outfits. The area has seen dozens of violent deaths in the last few days.
