Air France flight AF-7498 over-ran the runway at Biarritz Pays Basque Airport, Biarritz, France, on September 23rd.

The Airbus A320-200 flying from Paris Orly, France, went off the runway and had to be disabled.

The plane sustained minor damage.

No one was injured, however, the passengers had to remain inside the plane for at least an hour.

Pilot Injured After Small Plane Crashes in West Jordan, Utah

A small plane crashed in field in West Jordan, Utah, on August 24th.

The plane went down shortly after taking off from South Valley Regional Airport. Authorities said it struck multiple power lines and sparked a small grass fire.

The pilot, who was the only one aboard, sustained minor injuries. He was taken to a hospital.

Swiss International Airlines flight LX-1019 had to make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 1st.

The Airbus A330-300 plane flying from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was on final approach to Cairo when a bird hit it.

The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Burning Smell

American Airlines flight AA-5559 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Selma, Alabama, on June 21st.

The plane heading from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, was diverted after burning smell was noticed in the cabin and cockpit.

The plane landed safely. There were sixty-five passengers aboard at the time; two of them were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

China Eastern Airlines Plane Hits Severe Turbulence; 26 Injured

China Eastern Airlines flight MU-774 encountered severe turbulence on the way to Kunming, China, on June 18th.

The Airbus A330-200 plane was flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, when it hit severe turbulence that injured twenty-six passengers.

The plane continued for a safe landing.

Authorities said four passengers suffered serious injuries while twenty-two others received minor injuries. They were taken to hospitals.

Small Plane Crashes Near Franklin Airport, VA

A small plane crashed near Franklin Municipal–John Beverly Rose Airport in Virginia, on December 10th.

The plane had just taken off from the airport when the pilot reported engine issues and decided to return.

However, the aircraft could not make it back to the airport and went down around 100 yards off Route 258.

There were two people aboard at the time, including the pilot Linda Mathias, 75, and passenger Paul L. Ruehrmund, 69. Both of them sustained minor injuries in the incident and were taken to Southampton Memorial Hospital.

SkyWestSkyWest Airlines flight 5588 made an emergency landing in San Antonio, Texas, on December 4th.

The plane took off from Houston, Texas, and was on final approach to Monterrey, Mexico, when the crew reported an unsafe gear indication and decided to divert.

The aircraft’s nose gear collapsed upon landing in San Antonio.

One passenger sustained a minor injury in the accident.

Military Chopper Crashes in Nigeria

A military helicopter crashed in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria, on November 24.

According to sources, the Augusta AW101 Chopper had landed but it suddenly moved up again and tumbled.

There was only one person aboard, who sustained minor scratches.

The incident remains under investigation.

A small plane crashed at the Eureka Municipal Airport in Greenwood County, Kansas, on November 4th.

The plane was attempting to the land at the airport when it crash-landed and came to stop on its top.

There were two people aboard at the time, including the pilot George Douglas, 69, and his passenger Lawrence Stapleton, 55. Authorities said Douglas remained uninjured, however, Stapleton sustained minor injuries.

A two-seater light plane crash landed on to a service road near Muirs Highway in Mount Barker, Western Australia, on September 5th.

The RV9 lost all its power while the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing and hit the trees before crash landing.

The pilot and his wife were rescued with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
