What: Air Canada Boeing 777-200 LR en route from Australia to Vancouver Where: emergency landing in Honolulu When: Friday 7:10 a.m. Who: 256 passengers and 17 crew members Why: When the flight encountered turbulence SW of Honolulu, twenty-two people suffered minor injuries following severe air turbulence. Two passengers were treated at the hospital and released; two crew members were hospitalized; the rest were treated on site. The flight left later, scheduled to arrive in Vancouver at 2:44 p.m.
The turbulence was related to a thunderstorm.

American Airlines flight AA-728 had to make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom, on January 7th.
The Airbus A330-300 plane flying from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was on final approach when the crew declared an emergency due to an unsafe nose gear indication.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 747-300 en route from Jeddah Saudi Arabia to Lahore Pakistan Where: Lahore Pakistan When: Aug 30th 2011 Who: 5 injured Why: On approach to Lahore, the flight encountered turbulence.
Five passengers were injured during the turbulence. The flight made a normal (safe) landing. Published reports say the five injured passengers were not transported to the hospital, and that they were transported to the hospital.
Pia spokesmen say the injured ignored the seat belt instructions. (We believe this.)
The report that said there were 50 injured said they refused medical treatment.
Some received treatment at the airport.
