Why: After takeoff, both engines signified a problem over Ontario. Pilots entered a holding pattern and then landed safely back at O’Hare. No details are available regarding the problem with the engines. Passengers were provided a replacement jet.

The plane took off for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, but had to turn back after the crew failed to retract the landing gear.

AirAsia India flight I5-1629 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Hyderabad, India, on September 1st.

What: Air Transat Airbus A310-300, registration C-GTSD en route from Panama City Panama to Montreal,QC Canada

Why: The crew reported an unsafe gear indication on approach, and initiated a go-around. They managed to lower and lock the gear but then nose gear steering was unavailable. They landed safely and had to be towed away, blocking the runway for fifteen minutes.
Qantas Airways flight QF-63 made an emergency landing in Sydney, Australia, on August 4th.
The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Johannesburg, South Africa, but had to turn back due to a cracked windshield.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
