Brazilian officials now fear at least 195 people are dead from Tuesday night’s jetliner crash in Sao Paulo. The TAM airlines Airbus-320 was on a domestic flight to Sao Paulo from the southern city of Porto Alegre when it skidded off the end of the rain-slicked runway, crashed into a gas station and a building and burst into flames.

Why: While en route to pick up a government official Punjab Industries Minister Manorajan Kalia to Mukerian in Hoshiarpur distric, after takeoff from Chandigarh Airport, the helicopter tilted and fell to the ground, and caught afire. The helicopter had been leased to the Indian government for the past 14 years.
The pilots managed to get out of the burning helicopter alive. They have been hospitalized at Western Command Hospital at Panchkula.
An inquiry is underway.
Airbus Plans A-380 wing-rib bracket fix
Airbus launched a new recruitment initiative in Toulouse, France,and announced handling of the A380s to be coming in for their wing-rib bracket fix. The Airbus solution is to switch to a less brittle aluminum for the replacement parts. The cracks were first discovered on Singapore Airlines’ aircraft in 2011.
The Airbus retrofit plan includes ribs being replaced with all-aluminum components, inspection manholes reinforced and the feet blunted. In 2013 the parts will be available for wing modification and rib design from the end of this year. All A380s in service will require the overhaul. The fault has been blamed on components designed in Filton, Bristol.
United Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Chicago O’Hare Airport
United Airlines flight UA-1270 had to make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on April 14th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Jacksonville, Florida, was on final approach to Chicago when the crew went around reporting an issue with the flaps.
The crew worked the checklists and subsequently landed at higher than normal speed.
All passengers and crew members remained safe.
Husband Files Dana Air Flight 992 Lawsuit
Joy Chiedozie Allison died on Dana Air Flight 992. Her family has hired attorney Gary Robb. On June 7 (yesterday) Robb filed a 56 page lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Chicago, a discovery motion naming The Boeing Company, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp., United Technologies Corporation and Estate of Peter Waxtan.
In the Dana Airlines crash, both of the MD-83’s engines failed before it crashed into several buildings in Nigeria
The chief engineer of Dana Air was also aboard the plane when it crashed. Employees of Dana airlines have said that owners were aware that the jet had mechanical troubles struggling on a Calabar flight;, but the crew was forced fly anyway, and fly it loaded to the hilt with passengers and luggage.
Captain Oscar Wason is saying there may have been a bird strike. The black boxes have been recovered and will be sent to the US. The black boxes will have the truth.

Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Failure
Turkish Airlines flight TK-98 made an emergency landing in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on April 3rd.
The Airbus A330-200 plane flying from Istanbul, Turkey, was on approach to Medina when the crew requested assistance due to a hydraulic failure.
The plane landed safely and was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
