    IndiGo Flight Rejects Takeoff due to Bird Strikes

    IndiGo flight 6E-287 had to reject takeoff from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, on August 30th.

    The plane was accelerating to takeoff for Bangalore, India, when the crew rejected takeoff due to bird strikes.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. All one hundred and seventy-eight people aboard remained safe.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Arkansas

    American Airlines flight AA-1129 had to make an emergency landing in Little Rock, Arkansas, on December 15th.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-82 plane was flying from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, to Indianapolis, Indiana, when a passenger’s e-cigarette overheated and started emitting smoke.

    The crew diverted the plane to Little Rock where it landed safely.

    All 137 people aboard remained unharmed.

    What: Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from New York to San Francisco
    Where: Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
    When: Mar 30
    Who: 171 aboard (165 passengers and 6 crew)
    Why: When smoke fill the cabin, the crew diverted the flight to St Louis. They made a safe landing with no reported injuries.

    Passengers disembarked on the runway and were bussed to the gate.

    Jazz Flight Diverts to Canada due to Smoke in Cockpit

    jazzJazz flight QK-8833 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Canada, on November 21.

    The Canadair CRJ-100, en-route from Moncton, Canada, to Montreal, Canada, had to divert due to smoke in its cockpit.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 22 people aboard remained unhurt.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Seattle due to Smoke in Cabin

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2215 made an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on December 20th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane was heading to Honolulu, Hawaii, when the crew noticed smoke in the cabin and decided to return.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Alaska Airlines Emergency Landing

    On Feb 10 2013, Alaska Airlines flight 837 en route from Norman Y Mineta San Jose Int’l Airport to Honolulu departed and returned to Mineta San Jose after a power problem in a navigation system an hour into the flight. 132 passengers and six crew were aboard.

    When the captain decided to return to Mineta San Jose, the San Jose Fire Department was on standby.

    The Boeing 737-800 (738) made a safe landing at 9:40 a.m after two hours in the air, and did not need towing.

    The replacement flight was scheduled to leave at 10:45.
