    Caracas-Bound Venezolana Airlines Plane Rejects Takeoff

    Venezolana Airlines flight VNE-222 had to reject takeoff from Maracaibo, Venezuela, on June 9th.

    The Boeing 737-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Caracas, Venezuela, when both nose tires burst, forcing the crew to rejected takeoff.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Thomas Cook: Smoking Oven Causes Unanticipated Diversion to London

    What: Thomas Cook Boeing 767-300 en route from Manchester to Dalaman Turkey
    Where: West of Amsterdam
    When: Aug 15 2010 8.40 am
    Who: 320 passengers
    Why: While en route over the ocean near Amsterdam, the cabin filled with smoke. The crew diverted to London where they made a safe landing. The source of the smoke was determined to be packaging in an oven. Although the smoke had dispersed, the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Emergency Services were on hand.

    The plane was routed to Manchester for a crew change before the flight could be resumed.

    Cargojet stuck in Canada

    What: Cargojet Boeing 727-200 en route from Hamilton to Moncton
    Where: Moncton, Canada
    When: Mar 24th 2010
    Who: 3 crew
    Why: While landing in heavy rain in Moncton, the flight hydroplaned on landing, and overran the runway and, while still undamaged, got mired in the mud. Emergency crews are working to get the plane on solid ground.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Boston

    Delta Airlines flight DL-72 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 29th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, was diverted after the crew noticed engine vibrations.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Jacksonville International Airport

    An American Airlines flight had to divert and make an emergency landing at Jacksonville International Airport, Florida, on March 14th.

    The Boeing 737 plane heading from Miami, Florida, to Chicago, Illinois, was diverted after a passenger spilled soda on an electronic device.

    The plane landed safely. All 149 passengers and 6 crew members aboard remained unharmed.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Bomb Threat

    Turkish airlinesTurkish Airlines flight TK34 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on January 24.

    It is believed that the Boeing 777, heading from Houston, Texas, to Istanbul, Turkey, was diverted after the crew found a note that had ‘bomb’ written on it.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 209 passengers remained unharmed.
