    US Airways Express Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Dayton

    US Airways expressA US Airways Express jet made an emergency landing at Dayton International Airport in Ohio, on April 13.

    The plane was en-route from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Milwaukee when the pilot requested an emergency landing due to a maintenance light indicator.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 74 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    The flight was operated by a U.S. Airways subsidiary PSA Airlines.

    What: TAM Linhas Aereas Airbus A330-200 en route from New York to Sao Paulo Guarulhos Brazil
    Where: New York
    When: Nov 6th 2009
    Who: 216 (?) on board
    Why: After takeoff, the crew reported to ATC that the flaps had locked in place. After maintaining a holding pattern to burn off fuel, the plane landed back in New York for repairs, after which it departed again for Brazil.

    Louisville- Vision Airlines Copes With Hydraulic Emergency

    What: Vision Airlines Dornier Do-328-100 en route from Atlanta to Louisville
    Where: Louisville
    When: May 11th 2011, 8 pm
    Who: 21 aboard
    Why: After takeoff from Atlanta, the pilots experienced hydraulic problems, which they attempted to amend while en route. They announced the issue to passengers who were somewhat anxious on the way, but apparently did not panic. On approach to Louisville, a flyby revealed the landing gear was down. They continued to make a safe landing, leaving skidmarks on the runway, although without nose gear steering, they veered off the runway. After the landing, one passenger was hospitalized due to a medical condition. The runway is closed pending the investigation.

    Missing Coyote Found, Pilot Safe

    On January 10, 2013, a homebuilt Rans S4 Coyote went missing. A search was underway for the plane which is not equipped for night flight. Only the pilot, ERIC P HEINZ was aboard.

    The missing plane was located when the pilot’s campsite was discovered, at 9:30 after it had crashed in Lake Pleasant Arizona.

    The experimental plane sustained damage. The pilot survived.

    Denver to Toronto Returns after “pop” and smoke

    What: United Airlines/Shuttle America Embraer ERJ-170 en route from Denver,CO to Toronto
    Where: Denver
    When: Nov 23rd 2011
    Who: 68 passenger
    Why: While climbing out of Denver, passengers and crew smelled smoke in the cabin.

    A newscast said that passengers heard a “pop” before the pilots turned around and returned to the Denver airport.

    They made a safe landing. Passengers disembarked on the runway and were provided an alternative flight.

    Small Plane Crashed in California Home; 2 Killed

    A small plane crashed into a home in 1600 block of Tionontati St. California town, Nevada-California border, on the night of October 10.

    The Beech 35 Bonanza crashed in the south of Lake Tahoe Airport, California, just after taking off.

    The 2 passengers aboard were killed while no injuries were reported in the home.

    The incident is under investigation.
