An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Meridian, Mississippi, on December 5.
The plane, operated by ExpressJet, was heading from Dallas, Texas, to Columbia Metropolitan Airport, South Carolina, when the crew reported a crack in the windshield and requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The airline arranged another aircraft for the passengers.
Yakutia Airlines flight R3-495 had to return for an emergency landing in Yakutsk, Russia, on January 7th.
The plane took off for Khabarovsk, Russia, but had to turn back due to indications of a gear problem.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Why: The plane was en route but returned to Delhi after 45 minutes due to an undisclosed technical problem. The plane made a safe landing under emergency conditions at 9:10 pm. Passengers waited an hour, and an alternative plane took off with them aboard to Kolkata at 10:45 pm
Air Wisconsin flight ZW-4047/AA-4047 had to return and make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport, Manchester, UK, on July 19th.
The Canadair CRJ-200 en-route to Pennsylvania had to return due to a gear issue.
The plane landed safely.
No injuries were reported.

What: Air India Airbus A321-200 en route from Kozhikode to Dubai
Where: Kozhikode
When: Apr 30th 2012
Who: 148 passengers and 6 crew
Why: Taking off out of Kozhikode India, the Airbus ingested a bird in the right engine, and bending the blades. Pilots dumped fuel, before making a safe landing back in Kozhikode. A replacement jet was provided.
A second Air India flight made an emergency landing in Kozhikode after suffering an oil leak.
Air India flight AI-645 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, India, on December 1.
The Airbus A319-100, flying from Mumbai, India, to Jodhpur, India, had to divert due to hydraulic problem.
The plane landed uneventfully.

British Airways flight BA-2552 had to return and make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport, London, UK, on July 21st.
