The Boeing 777-200, flying from San Francisco, California, to Sydney, Australia, had to divert due to smoke in the cockpit.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-3818 made an emergency landing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 21st.
The plane heading from Medina, Saudi Arabia, to Dhaka, Bangladesh, was diverted due to a hydraulic failure.
On approach to Jeddah, the crew received an unsafe gear indication and entered a hold. The plane subsequently landed without nose gear.
The plane was evacuated. One passenger sustained serious injuries during evacuation while fifty-two others received minor injuries.
Peruvian Airlines flight P9-234 had to return and make an emergency landing at Rodríguez Ballón International Airport, Peru, on July 1st.
The Boeing 737-500, en-route to Lima, Peru, had to return due to failure of weather radar.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
Air India flight AI-410 had to return and make an emergency landing in Patna, India, on June 28th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Delhi, India, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-two passengers aboard remained unharmed.

Why: While climbing out of Denver, passengers and crew smelled smoke in the cabin.
A newscast said that passengers heard a “pop” before the pilots turned around and returned to the Denver airport.
They made a safe landing. Passengers disembarked on the runway and were provided an alternative flight.
Vueling Airlines flight VY-8318 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on September 15th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Barcelona, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bleed air fault.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unarmed.

Why: On takeoff, the flight blew a tire.
The flight diverted to Stansted where they made a safe landing. A replacement jet was provided for passengers.
