    Delta: Flight delayed by Mud

    Delta Flight 1763 McDonnell Douglas MD-88 en route from Washington DC to Minneapolis was on the tarmac when the right gear left the pavement and got mired in a foot of mud.

    160 passengers had to disembark on to the runway. They were bussed back to the terminal, and their takeoff was delayed.

    Meanwhile airport crews had to get the plane unstuck.

    Passengers scheduled on the 2:53 flight were put on a delayed flight that arrived in Minneapolis/St Paul Intl at Gate G19 at 8:13 p.m..

    EasyJet Flight Forced to Divert due to Medical Emergency

    EasyjetEasyJet flight EZY8626 made an emergency landing at Paris Orly Airport, France, on April 30.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY8626 from Palma to London Gatwick is diverting to Orly as a result of a passenger onboard requiring urgent medical assistance… The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority. The flight will continue to London Gatwick after the passenger is transferred to hospital…We apologise for any inconvenience experienced due to the diversion and resulting delay.”

    The nature of medical emergency is not known at the moment.

    Atlantic Southwest Wing Collapse After Failed Left Landing Gear


    What: Atlantic/Southwest Airlines Bombardier CRJ-200 en route from Atlanta to Baton Rouge
    Where: Baton Rouge Metro Airport
    When: September 1 2011, 4:35 pm
    Who: 50 passengers, 3 crew
    Why: Outside of Baton Rouge, the crew notified ATC of problems with the left wheel assembly, and circled over Baton Rouge. Fifteen minutes from the airport, the crew announced the emergency to passengers.

    Passengers were warned to exit immediately on landing.

    The pilot made an emergency landing in Baton Rouge with emergency services from metro Baton Rouge and Airport on standby.

    On touchdown, the left wing collapsed. Passengers exited promptly as the plane filled up with smoke. Airport spokesman Jim Caldwell said that there were no injuries.

    This was not the first problem the passengers encountered. They had boarded this plane in Atlanta after leaving another plane that encountered mechanical problems.

    United Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Ontario

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight 1181 had to make an emergency landing at Ontario International Airport in Ontario, Canada, at around 9 a.m. on January 29.

    The plane was en-route from Los Angeles International Airport to Washington Dulles International Airport when the crew reported a ‘burning smell’ and requested emergency landing.

    The Boeing 757 landed uneventfully. There were 199 passengers and 7 crew members on-board at the time; all of them remained safe.

    The airline said, “Maintenance team is reviewing the aircraft, and we’re working as quickly as possible to get our customers to Washington, D.C.”

    Cessna Crashed in Front of House in Lowell; Pilot Survives

    A 1964 Cessna 172 crashed in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of Lincoln Lake Avenue SE in Lowell, Michigan, at around 5:45 p.m. on January 19.

    The plane was scheduled to land at the Lowell City Airport when it hit trees and crashed in front of a residence.

    The pilot, a 40-year-old man hailing from Grand Rapids, was taken to hospital with only minor injuries. Authorities said he was taking flight training since April 2014 and was attempting a solo landing after flying for some time with his instructor.

    No one on the ground was injured.

    The incident is under investigation.

    United Airlines Jet in Emergency Landing at Indianapolis

    United AirlinesA regional jet of the United Airlines, headed from Columbus, Ohio to Chicago, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Indianapolis International Airport at around 7:40 p.m. on August 21.

    According to an airport spokesperson, the flight was diverted after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.

    The aircraft landed uneventfully and all 48 people aboard remained safe.

    The cause of smoke is not yet known.
