United Airlines flight 1181 had to make an emergency landing at Ontario International Airport in Ontario, Canada, at around 9 a.m. on January 29.
The plane was en-route from Los Angeles International Airport to Washington Dulles International Airport when the crew reported a ‘burning smell’ and requested emergency landing.
The Boeing 757 landed uneventfully. There were 199 passengers and 7 crew members on-board at the time; all of them remained safe.
The airline said, “Maintenance team is reviewing the aircraft, and we’re working as quickly as possible to get our customers to Washington, D.C.”

Air Canada flight AC-835 made an emergency landing in Geneva, Switzerland, on February 10th.
VivaAeroBus flight VB-3147 had to return and make an emergency landing in Cancun, Mexico, on August 29th.
Brussels Airlines flight SN-3233 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on September 9th.
