    Boeing 737 Hit


    On December 22nd 2014, a Delta Airlines Boeing 737 was damaged by a large container used by DGS cleaning company. The impact tore a hole behind the wing.

    The 737 was parked at gate B37 Terminal 4.

    DGS (http://deltaglobalaviation.com) offers jobs for aircraft cleaners, skycaps, and ramp agents. I don’t see dumpster driving on their list….

    SkyWest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Milwaukee

    SkyWest Airlines flight OO-4668 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 28th.

    The plane heading from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Detroit, Michigan, was diverted due to the loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane, carrying thirty-eight passengers and three crew members, landed uneventfully. One female passenger complained of ear pain and was taken to a hospital.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Charlotte After Bird Strike

    Delta Airlines flight DL-1591 had to return and make an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 24th.

    The plane took off for Atlanta, Georgia, but had to return shortly afterwards after it hit a flock of birds.

    The plane landed safely. All 122 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Jet Blue Emergency Landing in Baltimore

    Who: 84 passengers, 4 crew
    Why: THe Jet Blue plane made an emergency landing at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport after getting a mechanical alert.

    There was an odor in the cockpit.

    Emergency vehicles were standing by.

    Passengers were evacuated via emergency slide on to the tarmac. No injuries were reported.

    US Airways Jet Hits Runway Lights in Charlotte; No Injuries

    US AirwaysA US Airways jet, performing flight 1851, hit runway lights while trying to land in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 15.

    Authorities said the Airbus A321 was coming from Atlanta, Georgia, when the pilot reported wind shear. The plane then hit the runway lights while trying to land, damaging the underside of its tail.

    There were 153 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    The U.S. accident investigators have launched an inquiry into the incident.

    Emergency Landing in NY

    What: Delta en route from New York to Moscow
    Where: New York
    When: Nov 21, 2010
    Who: 193 passengers, 11 crew
    Why: After takeoff, ATC saw flames and smoke. The flight returned to JFK. No fire was found, but a compressor stall may have occurred. The left engine was shut down and the flight returned to the airport. Another flight was scheduled departing at 8 for Moscow, for the passengers.
