    Probable Fatal Crash in the Culebra Mountain Range


    What: Beechcraft Baron registered to a party in Canada en route from Pueblo to Santa Fe, N.M
    Where: the crash site was found Sunday in the Culebra mountain range near Las Animas County
    When: around 10 p.m. Saturday.
    Who: Two people are presumed dead
    Why: Air Traffic Control lost contact with the plane around 10 p.m. Saturday. Recovery efforts will begin again Monday if weather permits.

    UK Participating in Sita Air Accident, Nepal

    What: Sita Air Dornier 228-202 en route from Kathmandu-Tribhuvan Airport to Lukla
    Where: 500 Meters from airport
    When: Sept 28, 2012
    Who: 19 fatalities
    Update: Because seven British subjects were killed aboard the Sita Air crash on September 28, the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch will be joining the accident investigation.

    The British fatalities were named as:

    1. Raymond Eagle, 58, from Macclesfield, Cheshire
    2. Timothy Oakes, 57, from Winwick, near Warrington
    3. Stephen Holding, 60, from Stoke-on-Trent
    4. Vincent Kelly, 50, from Lostock, Bolton
    5. Darren Kelly (brother) 45 from Isle of Whithorn Southern Galloway
    6. Benjamin Ogden, 27, from London
    7. Christopher Davey, 51, from Northampton

    Nepalese authorities have a three month report deadline.

    Where: about 25 miles off the Southern California coast
    When: crashed Friday
    Who: unknown
    Why: unknown. Aluminum debris and an oil slick were located, but no bodies.

    Small Plane Crash Lands in Minnesota due to Engine Trouble

    A small plane crash landed in Xanadu Avenue, Jordan, Minnesota, on September 14th.

    The Stinson V77 flying from Fleming Field, South St. Paul, had to make a landing attempt after encountering engine problem mid-air.

    The plane flipped over on landing.

    The pilot remained unharmed.

    What: FedEx Cessna 209 B en route from Syracuse to Plattsburg
    Where: field off Elmer Hill Road, adjacent to the intersections of Elmerhill and Chmelewski roads, Oneida County, NY
    When: Dec 03, 2009 7:45 a.m.
    Who: pilot
    Why: After his engine exploded in mid-air, the pilot–with 8,000 flight hours in this type plane–aimed to land at Griffiss International Airport. While losing altitude, he pulled the plane (with its smoking engine) up, missing several homes and then dropping to land in an open field beside the Lake Delta Volunteer Fire Department, not far from the airport.

    A contractor, Wiggins Airways, out of Manchester, New Hampshire operated the plane.
