What: Lufthansa Airbus A319-100 en route from Frankfurt/Main to Hamburg Where: Frankfurt When: Aug 10th 2011 Why: After takeoff from Frankfort, the right engine made an explosive noise.
The flight crew shut down the engine and diverted back to Frankfurt where they made a safe landing. No indication if fuel was dumped or emergency crew on standby. The problem has been initially attributed to either a fuel or air intake issue.

What: Egyptair Boeing 777-300 en route from New York Cairo Where: JFK’s runway 22R When: Jun 20th 2011
Why: The Lufthansa Airbus was next and at high speed when ATC cancelled their clearance. Lufthansa subsequently rejected takeoff and slowed. Takeoff was delayed for about two hours, until after brakes were checked.
Simultaneously, the Egyptair Boeing was taxiing for departure and holding, but missed their turn and accidentally turned on to runway 22. The Egyptair flight vacated the runway as directed. The flight took off 75 minutes later.

Passengers debarked and were provided an alternative plane.

What: Roadside Ventures LLC Pilatus PC-12/47 en route to Kansas Where: Tiger Creek Swamp area, Lake Wales, Polk County, Florida When: June 7, 2012, 12:36 Who: 6 aboard, 6 fatalities Why: After taking off from Fort Pierce, the plane returning the Bramlage family from Bermuda began having trouble at 28,000 feet, and crashed in a remote area in Florida in an area of the Tiger Creek Preserve reachable by helicopters and all-terrain vehicles. The remains of the pilot 45-year-old Ronald,his wife Rebecca, 15-year-old Brandon, 11-year-old Bo, and 8-yea- old Roxanne have been recovered. Thirteen year old Boston is missing. There is a gaping hole in the plane, and the NTSB and FAA is speculating that Boston may have been sucked from the plane while in the air.
Witnesses in the Babson Park area heard a loud noise and apparently witnessed mechanical issues. Some witnesses saw the plane “twirling” before it crashed; other witnesses saw the plane flip and fly upside down.
The recovery party says the debris field covers hundreds of acres and that the plane came apart in the air. The investigation is being conducted by the NTSB and the FAA, and the search for Boston continues.

An 8-passenger plane made an emergency landing at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, Virginia, on November 2nd.
The Cessna 550 plane flying from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Meridian, Mississippi, was diverted after it lost oil pressure in one of the engines, causing a loss of cabin pressure.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
