The plane was flying from Hyderabad, India, when the crew noticed a technical issue with one of the engines.

The plane landed safely. All ninety-six passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

Jet Airways flight 9W-697 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mumbai, India, on September 20th.

The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Jaipur, India, but had to turn back after several passengers suffered nose bleeds and/or ear bleeds due to a sudden change in cabin pressure.

The plane landed back safely. Several passengers were checked by the medical teams at the airport and some were later taken to a hospital.

Jet Airways Flight Rejects Takeoff From Riyadh

Jet Airways flight 9W-523 had to reject takeoff from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on August 3rd.

The Boeing 737-800 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Mumbai, India, when the crew rejected takeoff.

The plane veered off the runway and came to stop on soft ground.

All one hundred and forty-two passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

Jet Airways Flight Diverts to Ahmedabad due to Cargo Smoke Indication

Jet Airways flight 9W-2074 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad, India, on November 21st.

The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Udaipur to Mumbai, India, was diverted due to a cargo smoke indication.

The plane landed safely. All one hundred and eleven passengers aboard remained unharmed.

Jetstar Airways Flight Diverts to Port Hedland due to Medical Emergency

Jetstar Airways flight JQ-127 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Port Hedland, Western Australia, on September 13th.

The plane heading from Adelaide, Australia, to Bali, Indonesia, was diverted after a passenger fell ill.

The plane landed safely. The patient was rushed to a hospital.

Jet Airways flight 9W-412 made a safe landing following a bird strike near Jodhpur, India, on July 28th.

The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Mumbai, India, was on final approach to Jodhpur when the crew went around, reporting a bird strike.

The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Fighter Jets Intercept Jet Airways Plane After Loss of Communication

Jet Airways flight 9W-118 was intercepted by two fighter planes due to loss of communication on February 16.

The Boeing 777-300 plane was heading from Mumbai, India, to London, England, when it lost communication with the ATC.

Two fighter jets intercepted the aircraft and subsequently, the communication was restored.

The plane flying from New Delhi, India to Doha, Qatar, was diverted due to a medical emergency.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) confirmed that the plane declared a medical emergency after a passenger’s medical condition became critical. However, the passenger passed away on landing in Karachi.

Authorities said the plane, flying from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, had reached its scheduled destination in New Delhi on time but the ATC advised the pilots to divert to Lucknow due to poor weather conditions. Shortly before reaching the airport in Lucknow, the pilots received low fuel indication and declared an emergency.

Jet AirwaysJet Airways had to make an emergency landing at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur, India, on March 22.

The aircraft was flying from Delhi to Chennai when the crew was reported that there was a bomb placed in the plane, prompting the plane to land at the nearest airport.

The plane landed uneventfully. The bomb threat was a phoned-in hoax that grounded five planes.

All passengers onboard remained safe.

According to the airline, “Jet Airways flight 9W 354 on landing in Mumbai reported a technical fault with the main landing gear.” It is believed that the plane’s main landing gear collapsed upon landing, also causing damage to the right wing.

All 127 people aboard the plane remained uninjured.

Jet Airways Passenger Opens Emergency Exit Door ‘Just For Fun’

Jet AirwaysA passenger aboard Jet Airways flight 9W 585 opened the plane’s emergency exit just after landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India, on January 24.

According to a Jet Airways spokesperson, “A guest, who travelled from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai by Jet Airways flight 9W 585, opened the emergency exit after the aircraft had parked at the bay at the Mumbai airport. The matter was reported to the security agencies.”

The passenger, who apparently told the crew members that he opened the emergency exit door “just for fun”, was escorted to a local police station by security forces.

Local media identified him as Steve Titschler, of Germany.

Two Kathmandu-Bound Flights Grounded due to Bomb Threat

airindia2Authorities said the flights were grounded after the Jet Airways security office received a call saying there was a “bomb threat” to Jet Airways flight 9W 260 and Air India flight AI-215.

There were 122 passengers and 7 crew members aboard Jet Airways flight while the Air India plane was carrying 121 passengers at the time.

Jet Airways Flight Diverts to Yangon International Airport

Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W-070 had to return and make an emergency landing at Yangon International Airport, Myanmar, on January 5.

The Boeing 737 plane took off from the Chhtrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India, and was heading to Bangkok, Thailand, when the pilots decided to return due to a technical snag.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were 184 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

The airline arranged an alternate plane for the passengers.

The plane, en-route to Dubai from Mumbai, had to be landed in emergency after Air Traffic Controllers alerted the pilot about a bomb threat.

A Jet Airways spokesperson Manish Kalghatgi confirmed, “There was a bomb threat on the flight. It was a serious threat prompting the pilot to land at the closest airport.”

The plane landed uneventfully and all 54 passengers and 7 crew members remained safe. The flight continued after security clearance.

Jet Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Delhi after Pilot Fell Sick

Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W-063 landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India under emergency conditions on May 7.

The plane was en-route from Bangkok to Delhi when the pilot fell sick and the co-pilot had to take over the controls. According to an airline spokesperson, “The Captain was being looked after by a Doctor that was traveling as a passenger on board the flight. The first officer was assisted by another Jet Airways Captain that was positioning as a passenger from Bangkok to Delhi.”

The plane, carrying around 200 people, landed safely.

The incident is being investigated.

Jet Airways Flight Returns to Kolkata due to Hydraulic Issue

Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W-2881 had to return and make an emergency landing at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, India on May 4.

The flight, en route to Silchar, India, returned under “partial emergency” conditions, after the pilot diagnosed a hydraulic issue in engine.

The plane landed uneventfully.

The ATR-72 aircraft was carrying 70 passengers at the time; all of them remained safe.

The airline arranged another plane for the passengers.

Jet Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Khajuraho

Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W-2423 had to make an emergency landing at Khajuraho Airport in Madhya Pradesh, India, on April 13.

The airport authorities said the plane, operating on the Delhi-Varanasi-Khajuraho route, had to declare emergency due to a technical snag.

According to the airline, “The aircraft, a Boeing B737-800, experienced a technical problem with the landing gear. Safetychutes were deployed and all the 59 passengers and eight crew on-board the aircraft disembarked safely and were transferred to the terminal.”

The incident is being investigated.

Jet Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Raipur

Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight S2 4121 made an emergency landing at Raipur airport in Chhattisgarh, India, on April 8.

The Mumbai-Raipur-Bhopal-Mumbai plane was forced to land in emergency after the pilot reported a snag due to flat nose tire.

The plane landed safely and was immediately grounded. All 160 passengers remained unhurt.

The next flight to Bhopal was cancelled.

Jet Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Mumbai after Bird Strike

Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W 541 had to make an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India, on March 31.

Authorities said the pilot requested an emergency landing after a bird hit the aircraft. According to an airline spokesperson, “The captain of Jet Airways flight 9W 541 from Dubai to Mumbai reported a bird hit while landing. A thorough inspection of the aircraft was carried out and no damage was reported.”

There were 110 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

The incident temporarily closed the runway due to which, 4 flights were asked to abort landing while 5 other incoming flights, including 4 Indigo flights and 1 Jet Airways flight, were diverted to other airports.
