    Mongolian Airlines Plane Rejects Takeoff in Mongolia after Losing Directional Control

    MIATMongolian Airlines flight OM-7056 had to reject taking off at Khovd Airport, Khovd, Mongolia, on May 3rd.

    The Boeing 737-800 was accelerating to takeoff for Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, when the crew lost directional control and it went over soft ground, prompting the crew to abort the takeoff.

    The plane received minor damage.

    All 90 passengers aboard remained safe and they were rebooked onto other flights.

    The incident remains under investigation.

    Nordavia Boeing Turns Back Decompressurized

    What: Nordavia Boeing 737 en route from Arkhangelsk to Antaliya
    Where: Arkhangelsk

    Why: After takeoff, the plane lost pressurization.

    As the plane lost cabin pressure, the pilot turned back to Arkhangelsk and made a safe landing. No injuries were reported.

    What: American Airlines Boeing 767-200 en route from New York JFK to Los Angeles
    Where: Dulles, Washington
    When: Apr 6th 2010
    Who: 152 passengers
    Why: While en route, the systems detected an indication that a cargo door was “not fully secure”. The flight diverted to Dulles where it made an unscheduled stop, and landed safely. The cargo door problem was promptly taken care of by mechanics before the flight continued on to LA.

    What: Empresa Aerocaribbean SA Boeing 737-200 en route from Caracas Venezuela to Santiago Cuba
    Where: Santo Domingo
    When: Dec 10th 2009
    Who: 90 passengers and 9 crew
    Why: While en route, the flight developed oil filter trouble in the right engine.

    Gushing black smoke, the plane made an emergency landing in Santo Domingo where maintenance took care of the problem. In six hours, passengers continued to their destination on the same plane.

    British Airways Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Canada due to Medical Emergency

    British airwaysA British Airways flight had to divert and make an emergency landing at St. John’s International Airport, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, on October 13th.

    The Boeing 777 was en-route from London to Tampa, Florida, when the crew reported medical emergency aboard.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    The passenger was taken for treatment.

    Two Dead after Small Plane Crashes in New Mexico

    A small plane crashed near Ohkay Owingeh Airport in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, on March 11th.

    The single-engine Remos GX light sport airplane went down around 50 feet from the outer fence of the airport.

    There were two people aboard the plane, including the pilot Karen Ann Young, 46, and the co-pilot Thomas Spickermann, 47; both of them were killed in the crash.

    The FAA is investigating.
