    PIA Jet Returns to Karachi Due to Engine Failure

    pia-logoPakistan International Airlines flight PK 521 had to return and make an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan, on December 11.

    The ATR-42-500 aircraft, heading to Turbat, Balochistan, was forced to return after one of its engines failed.

    The plane safely touched the runway at 7:40 a.m.

    All the passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Thomas Cook Airlines Flight Returns to Manchester, England

    Thomas Cook Airlines flight MT-2824 made an emergency landing in Manchester, England, on July 12th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Los Angeles, California, but had to turn back after the crew noticed smell of burning coming from an oven.

    The plane landed back uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Phoenix

    American Airlines flight AA-10 made an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 2nd.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Los Angeles, California, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All ninety-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

  • Otisco Indiana Emergency Landing

    What: single-engine Velocity aircraft. en route from Ohio to Kentucky
    Where: Otisco, Ind.on the 7200 block of State Road Three
    When: 3 p.m. Saturday
    Who: Pilot Elizabeth Ferrell and her husband Brett Ferrell weren’t injured
    Why: The pilot reported smoke in the cabin before landing along a state highway. She heard a pop and a gauge registered zero oil pressure. On landing (?) the pilot struck a reflector that did minor damage to the right wing . The plane’s oil line appeared to have ruptured.
