    Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Texas

    Southwest Airlines flight 118 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Amarillo, Texas, on March 18th.

    The plane heading from Phoenix, Arizona, to Atlanta, Georgia, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely.

    “The flight was met by Emergency personnel, and initial reports do not indicate any injuries to Customers or Crew,” the airline said.

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Returns to San Jose due to Mechanical Issue

    Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-43 had to return and make an emergency landing in San Jose, California, on March 7th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Honolulu, Hawaii, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a mechanical issue.

    The plane landed back safely. All 241 passengers and 11 crew members remained unharmed.

    Batik Air Plane Rejects Takeoff From Kathmandu

    Batik Air flight OD-181 had to reject takeoff from Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 19th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane was commencing takeoff for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed due to a configuration warning.

    All one hundred thirty-two passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

    #Delta Emergency Landing in Knoxville TN

    A Delta McDonnell Douglas MD-88 en route from Orlando to Cincinnati made an emergency landing in Knoxville after pilots reported smoke coming from the plane.

    The five crew and all the passengers put on oxygen masks but removed them on landing as a ground crew inspected the outside of the plane. Emergency services did not see smoke or fire.

    The unplanned landing was uneventful. A replacement flight was provided for to accommodate 52 passengers. There were no injuries, but there was a discrepancy of the number of people reported aboard.

    When: ebruary 18, 2010
    Who: 197 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the Qantas Airbus landing gear failed to retract, leading it to circle for 2 hours burning off fuel until it was light enough to land. Passengers were provided an alternative Airbus.

    Horizon Air Plane Returns to Portland due to Smell of Smoke

    Horizon Air flight QX-2794 had to return and make an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, on April 28th.

    The plane took off for Albuquerque, New Mexico, but had to return shortly afterwards due to smell of smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
