    When: took off about 10.30am but crashed a few minutes later
    Who: The pilot’s name was not released.
    Why: the engines failed and the pilot, 34, tried to land the plane but was unable to clear the trees. The pilot was able to successfully exit the plane. The plane was disassembled in the tree and removed to be reassembled and repaired later.

    Aer Lingus Flight Diverts to Dublin After Bird Strike

    Aer Lingus flight EI-911 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Dublin, Ireland, on August 6th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Gatwick Airport, England, to Knock, Ireland, was diverted due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Air France Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Japan

    Air FranceAir France flight AF-292 made an emergency landing in Osaka, Japan, on April 18th.

    The plane was flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, when the crew received a low tire pressure indication for several tires and declared an emergency.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 298 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Qantas Airways Flight Diverts to Singapore due to Engine Issues

    Qantas Airways flight QF-10 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Singapore, on February 6th.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane heading from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Melbourne, Australia, was diverted due to a mechanical problem with one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    2 Injured After Small Plane Crashed in Olympic National Park, WA

    A small plane crashed in Olympic National Park, Washington, on April 2nd.

    The Cirrus SR22 plane was carrying 2 people when it went down near Brinnon.

    Both occupants of the plane were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, Seattle.

    The FAA and the NTSB will investigate.

    What: British Air on behalf of Air France Canadair CRJ-100 en route from from Barcelona to Paris
    Where: 15 passengers
    When: May 26th 2009
    Who: 15 passengers
    Why: Near Limoges, the right cockpit window shattered, causing the plane to experience sudden decompression. the plane landed safely at Limoges. Cockpit crew had some injuries from flying glass.
